[quote="fasteach"]viking 96. ny DOES play like the title belongs to them. i wish meigs had or gets that way. you want your school to knock them off? hey so do i. but until that happens. it is their party. like ric said " if you like or don't lke learn to live with it".

p.s. i hear that this attitude shifts to macarthur about the first of december.[/quote

I know guys, I agree too. NY takes alot of pride in their football. VC used too. I have alot of respect for NY football. VC is basketball in the TVC and get used to that cause we are gonna win title after title for years and years and there nothing anyone in the TVC can do about it. Write it down!!

unfortunately my attitude is not shared by many if not most here. recently the school board rejected even putting to a vote the funding of a new sports complex that was at least 1/2 paid for by donations. i know times are tough but our football field needs to be replaced. the good people here raised a ton of money on their own and again the super and board let the kids down.
it is a shame that all the work mike bartrum and mike chancey did went for nothing. the really sad part is no one else will go out on this limb after it has been repeatly cut by the few who want to own the saw.

again vikes and orange and brown, civic attitude shows you put your money where your heart is and meigs' board has no heart.

That is a shame about what has happened at Meigs. You know, I think NY's complex is a sense of pride in the NY Community. The kids, fans and students of NY are extremely proud of the accomplishments of the boosters. Thanks Rocky Brands and the Athletic Boosters for all you have done for the school and community.

I think the TVC-OHIO will be very tough this year. With the exception of maybe 2 teams each game should be very close.

3. Athens Bulldogs
4. Wellston Rockets
5. Vinton County Vikings
6. Belpre Golden Eagles
7. Alexander Spartans

I would agree. The Spartans should be very good. Lawson is an excellent running back and Chapman is a fine quarterback. I look for the Spartans to make some noise in the TVC. Their kids play hard and they always have an excellent game plan.

Was wondering if any of the TVC-OHIO schools already have an opponent for their jamboree game...if so who is their opponent?

well someone is costing alexander games. if the coach is as smart as coach boston and they still are that bad, maybe they need to hire someone really stupid and win a few. my guess is dave shula is still available but them alexander's coaches are so smart maybe they won't be 0 for the tvc for the rest of the decade.
spartans, before you get in a 'i'm better than you contest, look at your record. start low. you and river valley could square off.

btw in the meigs game at least, the game plan was follow the guy with the ball all the way to the goal line if necessary. here's a plan, learn how to tackle.

In all fairness, their are other areas in which need funding badly. Also, the economy is tough and they probably had a good idea that the voters were not gonna pass the levy. There simply is not enough money to go around for everything, and educational needs takes priority. All that can be done is to start raising money in other ways for now.

that times are tough is true blit, but these volunteers went out and got most of the money. while they where doing this no one said " what a minute maybe we will put to a vote for new field and then again maybe not" it was go go go. now it is " we won't even put it to a vote". yes, there are some important things needed, but this is what the boosters and fans have busted their butts fundraising, volunteering and ,in the case of paul reed and the mikes, put their reputations on the line. do you think these guys will be first in line to do anything else for meigs schools? i would not! the board is gutting it's most important and vocal base. i have not seen a raffle or a golf tourney to fund a bus, but we have seen those for the past 3 years to fund sports. i have read, but do not know for sure, that they collected 75% of the needed funds. well in excess of $1,000,000.00.

our boosters where lied to. i am 1 so when i say this i know. the chances on them doing anything else is slim. our kids deserve better because they go out and represent us to the rest of the tvc and they have tried their best. do think they get the message that they're not important?

1 more thing, if they won't even allow a vote when this much support is available, will they when it is not?

That is a sad story down in Meigs. Its a shame that a program like yours can't get a facility it deserves. Nelsonville Yorks facility was made possible by the donations and hard work of the whole community. I was part of it and I know that hundreds of people helped out probably thousands. I can't say enough about the community support at Nelsonville York and Rocky Boots for all they have done. Maybe you guys should try and get a big name sponser if possible. Rockys really saved us and we are so very thankful for everything they have done. I hope Meigs get a facility they deserve. Good Luck To All Area Teams I can smell the cleats already LOL
