Re: TVC-Ohio 2009
Boilermaker, you obviously do not know me. While my religious preference is none of your business, I am a spiritual man, who is charitable to my community, socially aware, and have kindness and consideration in my heart and I have tons of compassion for the helpless and the down-trodden. I have no hatred for anyone. However, I have no patience or tolerance for the clinically stupid or clueless and especially for the self-serving, arrogant, self-anointed intellect. Anyone who knows me knows that I may be aloof at times, but I am a fierce and loyal friend and who is very considerate and polite.

Re: TVC-Ohio 2009
hey hawkeye who is the smith from wellston? i was assuming since only 1 smith was being discussed it was meigs' but you have a point so tell us who he is. i watched wellston last year both varsity and jv and did not see a smith.
btw meigs DID start kicking to ball out of bounds on purpose and they still lost. the only way to have stopped arnold that night was with a stake thru the heart.

Fasteach, last season there was a Caleb Smith, but I am sure he played on the offensive and defensive lines. I think who Mr. Bixx was referring to was Brad Miller, he was a sophomore last season and was a bruising runner. And there was Tim Ervin, who was also a sophomore and yet there was a freshman back named Brandon Shover. I am not sure, my guess would be Miller. Maybe when Mr. Bixx wakes up from his drunken stupor he will tell us.

we started after they scored 2 td's and it was to late. We might have stopped him if we had more than three starters on the kickoff team. especially when one of them has a kicking shoe on.

Watched the Meigs/NY game last night.
Arnold returned the opening kickoff for a TD. Meigs quit kicking to him, until they were up two scores. Then, they kicked it to him again. TD.
As for Meigs' Smith, he is fast and athletic. However, he didn't seem to break tackles or move piles. Arnold, to me, appeared to have equal speed and quickness, but he punished people with his runs. Well is the most impressive Meigs player by far in my opinion. Meigs threw the ball 12 times in the first half, and he was very efficient.
I also slow-mo replayed some key plays. Both PI calls against NY were just brutally terrible. Campbell's catch along the NY sideline was fantastic. Josh Dickerson's game-clinching INT was an incredible play. One of the best high school plays I have ever seen.
A helmet-to-helmet call against Meigs was a very poor call.
I also noted that shortly into the 2nd quarter, NY had over 50 yards in penalties.

smash i was not bashing meigs at all. it is just this arnold kid single handedly was resposible for nelsonville's win. our kids could not bring him down on kickoffs at all. that is not taking away from meigs. we where in it until the last plays. it was 1 of the greatest games i have ever saw. no one on either side quit until the last second int. i was proud for our kids, i was sad that they lost but they gave 100%.
jeremy smith may not be a pile mover but he is certainly a pile go arounder. he doesn't quit and he did lots more than run. when meigs needed a big play last year you could bet he was in on it. he did not get as many rushing yards as arnold but that was because meigs passed alot. i would say that if that O is there this year, and i can't see why it would not be, meigs will be 1 tough win. my guess is with the experience the kids got and the bitter taste of "almost" they will be better than last year.
