I am looking forward to the upcoming football season, my children go to Vinton County but there is a young man from our church playing for Wellston this year. I have seen the team practice and they look very big. I think Wellston will have a great season, Vinton County needs to pass the ball more.

I believe VC traveled to Coal Grove this evening for a scrimmage but I have not heard the results.

I believe Coal Grove scored 12 td's to Vinton's 0. Vinton could not stop Coal Grove only the 10 play drives could. Vinton showed good size but were out manned on the speed department. 34 for Coal Grove put on a show. I think he had 6 td's on about 10 touches. It was hard to tell if the vikes were that bad or the hornets were that good. I hope for the vikes that Coal Grove was that good.

fasteach....I'm sure Wellston was more there to scout Jackson, since that is the season opener. To a lesser extent scouting Meigs because they don't play until week nine.

Also, Vinton County sat on that same side too, and they were scouting both. VC plays Jackson week three.

it is very common for the scouting team to sit on the opposite side of the team they are scouting... I am sure Wellston would rather cheer for any team in the state than Jackson though... Although it wasn't about cheering it was a about preparing for week one with the Ironmen.

Nelsonville York looked great tonight at Federal Hocking. Arnold played very well. Cunningham is a Stud. They are def the pre season team to beat in the TVC.

Meigs is having a very good pre-season considering all of the injury's. Smith and Well look to be even better than a year ago if at all possible. Cameron Bolin is doing a nice job of replacing his brother as the main target for Well.

I heard Belpre had trouble with Philo and Coal Grove took it to Vinton.

How is Athens, Wellston and Alexander doing with their scrimmages?

Derek had around 150 yards in the half . Vasity score 27-7.Arnold is going to be a beast. They are small and fast.Federal Hocking is not horrible. They have weapons in Rex,Wilder,Hedges,Torrance, and Hatfield.

Varsity didn't crack the pads like the reserves or freshmen. I thought the Bucks "D" struggled in the beginning but as the contest went on...they got better and better. This jamboree is a good thing for high school football and with the cost of $5.00 to enter the event, it had to be a great thing for the Federal Hocking school district.

Conditioning, of course this early in the year, and "flying" to the ball is where we will improve.

It's my favorite time of the year.

GO BUCKS.....

Oh...be sure to contact me if you are interested in playing in the 2nd Annual NY Alumni Golf Tournament on Sat Oct. 3 at 9:00am at the Brass ring. 4 person scramble @$65.00 per person.

With Buckeye Pride...
