Ditto to what plays44 said. This site is proof. From day one I was disgusted when I seen how the parents and so called fans fight and argue with each other. By far Ironton boys are not so innocent. They actually started trash talking days before the game. Not going to call any of your boys out on here but face it... It's so true. so stop bashing JM. On another note...it was one good game and both teams did a great job! Hope to see you all next year! ;-)

I love all of the arm chair QB's that know so much more than the winningest coach in Ohio history. Please tell me because I haven't seen the stats, but I was at the game, how many yards did Johnstown throw for exactly? What made them so "diverse" compared to Ironton? Please, give me a break. If my memory serves me correct, Johnstown had ZERO yards passing in the first half and I am not sure they completed a pass the second half either. They ran the ball. Bishop Hartley runs the ball. There are a bunch of state champs that run the ball. There is nothing wrong with Ironton's play book. They have more pass plays in the play book than 99% of the schools they play. They do not use them when they do not need them. We called many more pass plays than Johnstown did. Many times we did not get the blocking to throw it because the Johnnies were in the backfield quickly. So if you really knew what you were looking at, Ironton was more "balanced" run to pass the Johnstown, not even close. Johnstown was almost exclusively run only on first down. They just happened to have came off the ball harder and blocked better.

For the poster about "telling me we need offense". I think this game more than any demonstrated why they say DEFENSE wins championships. When you give up 34 you are not going to win. If you are correct in your assessment, then LSU nor Alabama should even be able to stay on the field with Oklahoma State. However, I will take that bet if you want to take the explosive offense, I'll take Defense thank you.

Also, I thought Johnstown played quite dirty. It was obvious. I was a little disappointed that we did not keep our composure a little better and take it out more between the whistles, but they were very dirty. The dirtiest team I have seen play high school maybe in my lifetime.

I've witnessed the Johnnies once a year when they play Heath and I've never noticed any foul play. I can't comment on last evenings game because I was not in attendance.
As for the Ironton players ? I recall Heath's heartbreaking loss in '09 ( O.T. game ) and after the Tigers won the game I noticed a Heath player lying distraught on the field. One of the Ironton players came over to that player and showed some very classy compassion. I'll never forget that and I'm sure it's a reflection of Coach Lutz and the program he runs.
How about JM school board president John Davis ?? Disgusting how he treated Coach Carter last year. I'm sure that most Johnnie fans are glad he was reinstated as the HC.

Loved that reception for a TD that was called back. That was one of the prettiest catches in HS ball I've ever seen and it was a great throw because the Johnstown kid done a great job covering.

How many other's peed on the pine trees there at the game? Wouldn't surprise me to go back there next year and all those trees were dead. There was a steady stream of guys heading into the bushes at the game. Pay nine bucks for a ticket, you'd expect more toilets at the game

I was not going to post any more on this site, but I cant keep quite on this subject I need to stand up for our boys, tiger bait and all Ironton fans dont talk to me on watching film, I watced film this after noon by a break down point of view, man Ironton sure caused a lot of problems on the feild and I dont mean by their play ability I will not get in to details but some of that you seen was my boys reacting back yea mabe they should of let it go but all game long it takes a toll on you, ironton was called for three PF and just to refresh your minds ironton had PF in the clearcreek game also, but Jtowns dirty team, think what you want and if it makes it justified for you to say we are a dirty team than so be it, we played dirty because of our STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE AND LACK OF COACHING EXPERIENCE

I normally never put up a PM that's sent to me in private but for this one, I'll make the exception. I got this when I looked a minute ago..
Subject: D4 R15 Semifinal: Ironton (7-4) vs. Johnstown-Monroe (11-0)

So tell me, is this 'rockfish' one of your fans, cause I sure never said anything negative about Johnstown. Other than bragging about that amazing catch that was a called back TD, I never said anything at all about Johnstown

What cracks me up is all the JM fans can say is stuff about late hits or face masks. These things happen in football. I was and have been talking about the extra dirty cheap shots in the pile.Like I have posted earlier. Oh and another one I forgot to mention earlier. They were actually grabbing several of the boys noses and twisting. And you had better stop calling out #45 on here! It is against the rules to bash players and coaches! No one has called out any of the JM players. Figures they would do it anyway. Just more dirty cheap shots.
All of Itown knows we got beat, but the dirty stuff was unnecessary.

So you are saying we are dirty just because the players said so? I'm sure our players said the same thing.. At least you guys had a nice ride home in the coach busses

And yeah late hits are a part of football. But they are not allowed. Which is why a flag is thrown. Just an fyi on that one since i guess you don't know the rules..

Oh and JHS PRIDE. I don't have to get over anything. You need to get over yourself with your speeches about class. How classy is it to twist someone's nuts or nose, or poke someone's eyes. Or pile on someone who is already down and give them a concussion for no reason. Oh but let's whine about holding. Give me a break!
You've got a good team with a great running back. Ya don't need to do that stuff. Good Luck!

How do you pull on someone's nose if they have facemask on ? That's a new one

Game's over. Why can't BOTH sides drop it?
Congrats to J-M on a fine season so far and good luck this week against Coshocton.
Congrats to Ironton on a fine 2011 season and better luck in the 2012 playoffs.

Congrats to JM on a fine win and good luck the rest of the way! And good job tigers on another good playoff season.

JM was obviously a far better and more dynamic team than the tigers. Very underrated team in my opinion, atleast around here in southern Ohio chats lol.

As far as the cheap shots, it's football! It happens. No they are not condoned nor I doubt they were premeditated from either team. Emotions fly high especially at this stage of the season. What's visable from the stands isn't always the whole situation. Players run their mouths and do thing to provoke one another and get in the heads of the other team. I played football in high school and it's not a uncommon things for stuff to go on the pile like that. Punches, nut grabs, being spit on and etc. I'm not saying it's right or justified but they are kids and probably didn't use the best of judgement in those situations. If it was going on the refs shoulda done more but they didn't. I just find it senseless to bash these high school players and their teams from what was seen in one game.

JohnstownFan wrote:I give credit were credit is due. Johnstown is a poor excuse for a good team. I hope they get a taste of their own medicine. If the Johnnies feel as if they have to be dirty to win then so be it. Here at Ironton we play with discipline. That was a sorry excuse for coaching if I have ever seen one. I guarantee that if Lutz boys were doing that then they would have been ejected from the game. But since we played in your all back yard then you all brought you officials with you. I even heard ones name was Johnnie. So shut up and go grab someone elses jewels.
We didn't hit your qb 5 seconds after he was out of bounds did we? Homer.. Or hit your rb after he was in the end zone. Maybe because #45 was too busy trying to start a fight the whole game.. I think you need to watch from both sides bud[/quote]
No you clowns just hit one of our players after he was down that caused a concussion. I dont think we need to talk about any specific individual and I think you should keep your mouth off #45. I know your boys could not keep their hands off him. So just keep your mouth off our boys and worry about your own boys cause they definately have some issues they need to work out.
