If the NY team I saw the first 6 weeks, and the Alex game shows up, they could win the region. If it's the same team from the 1st half of the Meigs, Athens, or VC game, it could be one and done.

I hope it's the former! Go Bucks! Defend the home turf!

I think the loss, if it was going to happen, happened at the right time. It should make them hungry and want to win even more. I think you are going to see some angry "sharks" this week.

Even though the 2011 team will not join the ranks of the undefeated Buckeye teams of the past, the 2011 team can still go down in history with a deep playoff run.

One game at a time. Let's see what the 2011 Buckeye team is made of.

Know nothing about Portsmouth West, but if they have an effective passing game, and a hard hitting defense, I see them winning this game with ease. Athens was intercepted on the deep ball mostly, a jump ball up for grabs for any player. If they get a nice steady run game going then it will open up even more in the secondary. Nelsonville-York is one dimensional IMO, their receivers can't seem to find a groove and continuously deliver, other than Kyle Freer, take care of him and its the run game you worry about. Nelsonville-York does have a good shot at winning only if they scout their offense, notice the tendencies, and practice noticing the little things, the tell tale signs of what play they could be running, then it will be a close game.

There you have it.... Well maybe, what dimention are they? 1700 yards passing, over 2000 on the ground.. They give up 7 points a game and have about 20 interceptions as a team on the year. Ports west gives just 12 points per game and their rushing that is very effective is 90% of their offense. They power up and come right at you. This should be a good game. Even teams but both with effective defenses and both do what they do on offense well. Gotta get out to see this. Trimble plays Saturday Correct?

West can pass. And I hope we pass some and don't come in with the mindset that because we are bigger on the lines, that we can just run over them. If we do, we'll probably loose similar to the Bishop Ready game a few years ago. We need some balance. But we are a running team and we run it well. Either way we will score points.

What concerns me more is stopping NY and their speed. We have a very good defense. But if they are able to spread us out like Valley did, we won't be the agresser and could be in for a long night.

This should be a real slobber knocker, both teams play a very physical game.
I am going with the SOC II team in the Sider. Good luck and kick some Buckeye Butt.

Ive changed the front page on the TVC web site for this weeks games ... I'm kind of waiting on a Portsmouth West photo to add more stuff though.

The game will be close if NY forgets last week, and will focus on this week. If there is any hangover, West will beat them easily. Good Luck Buckeyes.

Was the roster I posted any help to you? If there's anything I can help you with as the playoffs progress, I'd love to help you out. Obviously, I can get info for you on Valley much easier than West, but I do still have some info and should be capable of gathering more if needed.

As I've already told you before, I love the web site!! Great work man!!!!

I agree with you a lot! I really think this game is going to come down to which team can get the other to play their style of game. West is going to need to sustain drives and keep that high powered NY offense off the field. I think it's going to be important for Ratliff to get the opportunity to complete some passes early to keep the NY defense honest against both the run and the pass. I really think both of these teams have a shot at winning this Region and would love to see this one, if not for Valley playing the same night.

Let's not forget about NY's defensive prowess. Up until the Athens game, they had allowed a total of 51 points the entire season, including four shutouts. I do not anticipate West being able to move the ball very well against this defense.

This game could very well come down to one turnover deciding the outcome. That's my two cents. As long as the weather's decent, I will be in attendance. So Bish, be on the lookout!

If you're going to be at this one on Friday, how about you make the trip to watch Valley in the Semifinals if they are able to knock off Ridgewood? I'll even buy you a bag of popcorn. 8)
