Re: DV R19 Qtrs: Ridgewood (8-2) @ Lucasville Valley (10-0)
Here is what I was able find on Ridgewood defensively by game. I apologize for how incomplete the info is, but at least it will give an idea...
Week 3 @ Martin's Ferry: 33 carries - 157 yards; 4comp - 9att - 52 yds; 42 plays - 209 total yards allowed
Week 4 @ Tusky Cent Cath: 120 yards rushing; 75 yards passing; 195 total yards allowed
Week 5 vs Malvern: 28 carries - 108 yards; 10comp - 19att - 210 yds; 47 plays - 324 total yards allowed
Week 6 @ Sandy Valley: 27crs - 87yds; 12comp - 26att - 131 yards; 53 plays - 218 total yards allowed
Week 7 vs Liberty Center: 266 yards rushing allowed (no passing stats available)
Week 8 @ Garaway: 32crs - 68yds; 26comp - 39att - 305 yds; 71 plays - 373 total yards allowed
Week 9 vs Strasburg-Franklin: 26crs - 93yds; 9comp - 18att - 83yds; 44 plays - 176 total yards allowed
Week 10 @ Newcomerstown: 26crs - 53yds; 12comp - 25att - 103yds; 51 plays - 156 total yards allowed
That all works out to 907 yards rushing in 8 games (they only gave up 100+ yards in 3 of those 8 games), and 965 yards passing in 7 games (they allowed over 200 yards in one game and over 300 in another, but more than half of the games with stats showed teams throwing at least 18 times against them).
It looks like they are only giving up just over 100 yards per game on the ground, assuming the trend in weeks 3-10 was the same in the first two games of the season; and allowing around 130-140 yards per game through the air per game.

Re: DV R19 Qtrs: Ridgewood (8-2) @ Lucasville Valley (10-0)
The PDT didn't do us any favors with their stats from the Minford game, so I'll post what I have been able to piece together. Crab's Bro and I have been feverishly working on the All-Time stats, records, etc for a few weeks now and it's amazing how incomplete the reporting on the games has been over the years. I'll post what I've got for the season, and we should be able to get everything between now and Friday.lineman7 wrote:Do we have Valley's stats? I know at the end of the Burg game Keller had 28 rushing Td's, but would love to see the entire stats for the team.

PDT with good sports coverage...LOL!!
You may check with Roger Lundy, I'm pretty sure he keeps the ENTIRE stats for Valley, every game.

Yeah, coach Lundy and coach Merritt do a great job keeping the stats for the team. In fact, Crab's Bro and I spoke today about getting the numbers from them this week to go along with the all-time numbers that we are gathering.chicken_coop wrote:PDT with good sports coverage...LOL!!

One good thing to see is whenever regular season is over and seeing the local teams have eachothers backs. Can't wait to see the indians play this friday!

Paladin's prediction--
in a close one that could go either way, Ridgewood by 1

I couldn't agree more. It's great to see communities from the same area showing their support for each other. However, down the road I would love to see a West vs. Valley rematch for a regional title. If both teams can make it this far it would be interesting to see who will pull for who 8)OST wrote:One good thing to see is whenever regular season is over and seeing the local teams have eachothers backs. I don't know too much about Ridgewood but I think the most important thing for Valley is ball security. Their two closest games were made closer because of some turnovers in crucial areas. On the other hand, they have shown as much, if not more, mental toughness than most Valley teams that I can remember. I think that showed after the two fumbles that were turned into TD's against West and also at Wheelersburg when a few the Wheelersburg game usual "shoot ourselves in the foot" moments happened. These boys have been very calm and consistent throughout the year and have not panicked when the going got tough.

UPSET Special:
"West Lafayette Ridgewood (8-2) over Lucasville Valley (10-0). Neither team has made much of a dent in the playoffs before, but we have a hunch that Ridgewood's eastern Ohio competition (its opponents are 55-45) is better than the southern Ohio teams Lucasville Valley has feasted on."

That's typical garbage from them... I remember in 05, they said we couldn't play with Grandview or Ready because of their "central Ohio" schedule... I'm very confident in the ability of this team and I love that so many seniors play vital roles.chicken_coop wrote:UPSET Special:
