Jackson would probably end up with the game just because they do have parking and an awesome stadium, but it would be cold up on that hill with the wind blowing. All three area teams win tonight Valley, West & Jackson. We Just Need Ports. East tomorrow. Are they really playing that game at East stadium. Their sitting is really poor. Go East. & Ironton tomorrow.
I'd throw Ironton and Symmes Valley in with the bunch too..
Definitely!!! Southeastern Ohio has to stick together! I'll be pulling like all get out for East (I'll be there), SV and Ironton tomorrow night!!!

Changing this from a "Sticky" back to a "Standard" topic since chicken coop just started next week's thread.

Sorry if anyone has trouble finding it to discuss the game, but the top of the forum is getting a little crowded.

I'm still excited thinking about watching Yates INT return for a TD, from what I thought was 103 yards!!! That was absolutely HUGE!!! His INT in the endzone late in the game was also HUGE!!!! And, I can't say enough about Luke Keller's performance all night long!!! He had 204 yards rushing on 22 carries with a touchdown and also got a touchdown pass!!!! This young man is defintely making a statement as being possibly the best back in all of Region 19!!!!!

I was surprised at the crowd or lack of for Ridgewood. Away side was barely half full

I was thinking that too. I kind of expected them to travel a little better with the string of consecutive playoff appearances they've made and the number of times they've traveled to Scioto County in recent years. Such a small crowd for such a solid football team.

Well, here again (much as the S. Gallia/Buckeye Central game tomorrow) you have a team that traveled 150+ miles and over 3 hr. with difficult roads in some places enroute. There are just family, friends and a few alumni that will travel that far for a 1st round playoff game. I guess most of the others figure anymore if they can get by the first round game then the 2nd round game will be somewhere in the middle and they won't have to travel as far the next round. This is another part of OHSAA's problem with the regional alignments but they just turn their heads as they've always done and ignore their bread and butter, the fans.

Fan, ur right. Have seen that many times from teams travelling to Burg. Get it done, travel will be alot closer. I sat on the Ridgewood side tonight for a place to put my butt. The RW fans were very vocal and really into the game. I dont know what Valley fans were expecting. Maybe Burg fans?? LOL. The game was very this and that according to RW fans. The last two weeks for them must have been tough. But they were proud of their team! I was really suprised at the lack of penalties in this game. Great job by both teams! :) Valley just had it in them to stop RW when it was needed. Very exciting game!!

I agree. These new alignments are ridiculous. They have teams that are 60 to 70 miles north of I-70 playing in Region 19 and teams that are 60 miles south of I-70 playing in region 17.

Take Fort Frye for instance. Let's say they make the playoffs and have to travel to Cuyahoga Heights to play a 1st round game in Region 17. CH is almost on Lake Erie so you looking at close to a 4 to 4.5 hour drive for a 1st round game. That is freakin' ridiculous, especially with gas prices the way they are. The OHSAA is the biggest bunch of idiots I believe I have ever seen.

If u get rid of the pts system and do the KY district playoff system, then u get teams going to the playoffs based on the area they play and the record they have. Top two teams? go to the playoffs. This way u have all the southeastern teams playing against each other in the early games. No long travel. But u get rid of the conference games. I dont want this myself but I think the way the pts system is concerned and the way Ohsaa wants equal teams in each division, it will only exasperate the travel problem. B77, we have seen it already. SCC traveling to Burg a few yrs ago. I think someone said they stayed in Huntington for the night to play that Sat game! LOL. Ridiculus.
