The Nelsonville Greyhounds typically played a nine game football schedule that included the seven other SEOAL schools in weeks 3-9 and opened the season with two non-league games against The Plains and Chauncey both of which are now a part of Athens.
So in fact, statatistically, those low percentages by the Greyhounds came from playing more schools that are now in the TVC then are now in the SEOAL. But again, Nelsonville was not a football school back in those days.
So then, since Nelsonville was not a football school in those days does that mean you want Logan, Jackson and Gallipolis to follow everyone else listed above into the TVC eventually. All that would mean is that it would be quite awhile before N-Y would win another TVC football title you know.

OK, I just wanted to clarify the fact that the TVC wants no part of Jackson, Gallipolis or Logan. Thanks !!!!!
Give Nelsonville as many kids as Logan, Jackson, Gallipolis and then we'll see how those schools do vs. the mighty NY... I'm don't want to sound like NY is better than anyone else, but I think that it's unfair to say that NY would want to compete against DI/D2/D3 schools consistently for a league title. Leagues are usually designed around schools that are similar and NY has always competed against bigger schools. NY would compete with those schools in football, but it's cool keep talking about how good Jackson is... when was the last time you won a SEOAL title in football?
I am not saying Jackson is great at all. Just funny how people bash them but are afraid to play them You had your chance to play them every year, but chose not to.

When did any one bash Jackson?? Some of us might be hard on some of the fans that think the world revolves around the SEOAL, but I don't think any body has been bashing JHS. I have wished nothing but the best for them since all this came out about them wanting in the TVC. A lot of people who are fans of JHS have spent a lot of time talking bad about the TVC. The TVC doesn't vote in JHS so now they talk evan worse about it. I haven't even heard what JHS reason for wanting out of the SEOAL were/are.
You know whats really funny?????????????????????????? All those people who kept saying that they(Jackson)would never leave the SEAOL. To much tradition, history,BLA,BLA,BLA!!!!! I remember how hard the JHS fans were on Athens and the other schools who left or are leaving. Now your school wants out.
Jackson voted against the league expansion. Athens voted for it then jumped ship. That is why fans were hard on Athens. So does not surprise me that Jackson wants out. I just no that Neslonville voted no and Vinton. My only guess is that they feel that over time they could not compete!!!!!!!!!!!
^^^ In all sports maybe... but why does Jackson want in the league anyway? For the exact reason you say that TVC doesn't want Jackson? Because Jackson is bigger than everyone in the TVC and maybe Jackson can't compete in the SEOAL? Is that what Jackson fans are saying? I feel like the TVC is good as is for now. If a lot of the schools minus Logan/Chilli/Zainesville/Marietta want to create a large school TVC and maybe move some teams around like Meigs and Vinton to go with Warren, Jackson, Galliapolis, Ironton and maybe Athens or another team or two then maybe we might have something. Maybe Portsmouth or Alexander? Or Portsmouth could join the middle of the road TVC and bring Fed Hock up to the Ohio?
I really think its funny how are little leage was so bad acording to so many and then Jackson comes calling(cause we must be so bad). Why in the world would a school the size of JHS want in the TVC. Maybe JHS thought its size and greatness would make the hole leage better. I don't care how good or bad they are in any sport, I don't like driving to Wellston so I don't want to drive to Jackson every 2 years either. I think that They are in panic mode cause every one is leaving. If they wait it out things will be Ok.
Until then................................................
SORRY WE DIDN'T VOTE YOU IN. ITS NOT PERSONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you look at the overall picture of a school's athletic department, boys and girls sports, revenue and nonrevenue sports, the move of Athens to the TVC made sense since they are spending less money on transportation and are having better attended games in the revenue sports.
The move also made sense in the fact that the Athens players are spending less time on busses going to and from games. This gives the kids more study time. I know this means nothing to a varsity football team which plays on either friday or saturdays, but every other school football team plays on a school night. I would venture to say that over 90% of all girls sports, track being the exception, play their games on a school night.
It doesn't matter if Athens or Jackson voted for or against the expansion of the SEOAL. The folks at these 2 schools have realized that the expansion of the SEOAL was bad for kids. Too much travel for the kids and less time for their studies or other school functions. This is why they are looking at joining the TVC.
It would seem that these schools liked the SEOAL better in it's old alignment and feel that it will never get back to that point. So, they have choosen a different direction, join the TVC.
I think the TVC should put on a full-court press and go after Jackson, Warren, Marietta and Gallia and offer them membership in the TVC provided that these schools, along with Athens and Vinton, move into a 3rd division. This would properly align all schools in the TVC by enrollment in 3 different divisions. Nobody would be required to play across divisions if they didn't want to. By doing this, the old members of the SEOAL get what they really want, their old league back prior to the expansion. The TVC gets added name recoginition by the larger schools joining the TVC. Change the name. It doesn't have to stay the TVC.
In my opinion, its time for ADs, principles and others to put away petty opinions over old grudges and do what is best for kids, playing games in front of inspired fans (larger student body), shorter bus trips so mom and dad can make all of their kids games and the kids not having to spend as much as 2 hours one way on game nights. I hate to break some folk's bubble, but we send our kids to school to get an education. The playing of sports is secondary to what a school system is built for.

This would work and this way the caliber of competition would remain steady throughout the different divisions.
