As we have all said, this Valley team is VERY GOOD, if not the best we've had in a LONG, LONG time. Valley has NEVER had 3 players on the field at one time like Keller, Yates, and Dwyer. Friday cant get here fast enough.

.
You are right.
Valley has more talent on the field than they possibly ever had. All I heard last week was how good Burg has become since their loss to Ironton. Not so. Minford is down this year and Burg wasnt that impressive. Valley will be focused and will finally get over the Burg hurdle, and in a BIG way.

Valley has a chance to not only win the next two games, but rest their starters the second half of each game and get ready for week 11. I see them doing well past regular season this year.

There will be no comparison on talent between these 2 teams on the field Friday.

The wheelersburg football team and community is not concerned with records or how many wins they have over valley. we know that valley is a very good football team. we know we r the underdogs. we except the challenge. we will be prepared for the friday night fight. End of topic.

Defending SOC Champion, 7-1, AT Ed Miller....nice try on the "underdog" role.

Wheelersburg is Wheelersburg. Period. Don't expect a blowout. Valley should win but, considering the game is at Burg (where Burg always play well) and have been playing well, they could and should make this interesting down to the last drive.

I gave some reasons why I feel the way I do about the potential outcome of this game, based on things that will actually take place on the field. I'd really like to see some folks do the same, i.e. match-ups, schemes, etc. I'm already kind of bored with posts about "the curse" or "the jinx" or whatever you want to call it, posts that state essentially state Burg is going to beat Valley just because they are Burg, and posts that really don't discuss the game at all.

Why do Valley fans feel they will win? Why do Burg fans feel they will win? What offensively and defensively do you think your team is going to do that will be successful. From the folks who have seen both teams play, where do you see good match-ups? Where do you see mismatches? What should we expect to see?

Anyone actually want to discuss the game or just have a fictitional pi$$ing contest?

Really?

Check the picks on the Pick'ems Thread Friday about noon. Everybody knows who the underdog is here...
My guess is it will be about 95 to 5 for Valley.

I keep hearing you say Burgs the favorite in this game well I want some of that point spread so how many points are you giving up to Valley if they are the underdog? I will definately see some of that action

Show me a quote where Ive said Valley is an "underdog"....because I havent. All I have said is that Burg is trying to spin this to be that they are big underdogs, when thats not the case.

I'm not talking about any curse crap...It's not like they are 1-7. They are defending champs, and its at Burg. Know what I mean?

That said....

Valley 35

Burg 21

Three words:
1. Flip
2. A
3. Coin

I think this game could easily go either way. It's going to come down to who wants it more.

You know better than I but I liked the team that went to the regional a few years back. That team was nasty on defense and their tight end was outstanding. Valley is really good and they sort of remind me of last years Oak hill team. Burg will play hard and the best team that night will win.

Go Burg
