West Freshman Team

Post by Cameron34Crazie34 »

Just heard they beat Wheelersburg tonight 62-0. Don't know very many of these boys. But good luck to them throughout the year.

Just found out that it was 62-0. And to top it all, Wheelersburg didn't manage a first down the entire game, let alone cross midfield.

Not to take anything away from what West did tonight nor but some of Wheelersburg's best frosh. did not play this year. Obviously with a score like that it would not of mattered but it would have been respectable. Sounds like West has a good future.

I was told Burg was lucky to have 50 yards all night.

West didn't loose game in the regular season in Varsity, JV, or Freshmen last year. Someone the other day told me that it was going to happen again. Sounds like their off to a good start.

West will own the SOC II for the next 4 years. The only year in question is this year. You watch.

I would imagine it won't be this bad when these kids seniors, but I do think West will run the table for the next 3-4 years...if you wanna beat them this year should probably be the year...

West is conference/playoff contenders this year. Next year, they are state title contenders.

I posted a scoring breakdown on my Twitter page from the game last night at www.twitter.com/burgsports . It was ugly.

I've also posted photos of the game at: http://tr.im/xfyk

The main differences between the two teams were speed and strength. You could tell West spends a lot of time in the weight room. Good luck to the the rest of the season.

They haven't since 2005...I doubt that either team is afraid of each other, its more than likely a scheduling difficulty

Burg's JV team would certainly be a junior-laden team. Last year the Burg barely had enough to field a freshmen team and only seven of those kids came out for varsity. However, I counted 19 freshmen at Jackson this year, while the Times only lists 13 for West. They must be a hardy group of 13 for the 'Siders. Congrats to them.

Sounds like the worse side will be good in years to come.

Does West Frosh play Ironton this year...that sounds like it would be a great match-up....Ironton too went undefeated last year as eighth graders...and destroyed everyone they played...would love to see this match up. Although..Ironton lost their freshman running back the other night with an MCL...

They played last year as 8th graders and it was not a close contest.

One year in the weight room can make a big difference plus being around Coach-T seems to make kids play better.
