Week 2 1-0 Athens @ 0-1 Federal Hocking
How about it? Fed Hock shut Athensout last year; both have big lines ... I see a dog fight on the horizon.
I can honestly see this game going deep into the 4th quarter with both teams fighting tooth & nail for the win ... its a classic 'southeastern Ohio anyone can win it' type contest ... IN Stewart; Athens heads in too confident after their win at Gallia ...
Stewart is by no means an easy place to win, I don't care if your the better team or not ... its just hard ... the Lancers with their barn in the backround and cow pastures hovering the hillside; its wild in Stewart I tell ya ... Athens better be prepared and ready to hit ... (which I think they will)

Good luck Bulldogs. Have a focused week of practice and prepare yourselves to avenge last years loss to the Lancers.....

Re: Athens (1-0) @ Federal Hocking (0-1)
The Athens Bulldogs of '09 have done a lot of things simply by winning last Friday night...
The last Bulldog team to start (1-0) was the talented '03 club (04 Grads).
You look at that '03 club and you see a lot of the same things with the '09 club.
-Strong Lines (Kerber, Clonch, Fulks, Pugh, Roberts)
-Solid QB (Gregory)
-Playmakers (Hewitt, Mingus, Sebring, Hughes, Pitts)
-Tenacious D
-Same Coaching Staff & Schemes (Champlin)(Adams, Ditty, Fry, Roberts, Rogers, Pugh)
The '09 Dogs are tough on the LINES (Rider, Chapman, White, Germano) to name a few, SOLID QB (Harris 5-4 as starter), PLAYMAKERS (Young, McCollum, Dixon, Weaver, Glass) TENACIOUS D (hanging a goose egg @ Memorial Field never an easy feat) and have had the same coaching staff now for the 3rd consecutive year. That might not sound like much, but having to learn to plays and new schemes can set back even the best players. Coach Adams and staff have the Dogs right where they need to be, (1-0) after Friday Night, and preparing to go (2-0) for the 1st time since, well....that '03 squad, which I will be comparing this team to a lot...
Also, by winning Friday @ Memorial, the '09 Dogs have assured themselves and the fans that they can 'WIN' on the road. Any team can win at HOME, but Champions defeat the opponent at their place, during tough times with hostile environments. (Memorial) is all of that and more and the (21-0) Victory Friday should be a sign to this team that they have the components to do some great things this season and on...
Dogs, keep the focus, study your opponent and execute what you can control. Take care of what you ned to take care of and everything else will work out. Enjoy the 'W', but its 'Fed. Hock' week ...

My Prediction is:
Athens - 42
Fed Hock - 6
Athens will be too much for Fed Hock to handle.
Athens - 42
Fed Hock - 6

Looks likes I am the only person believeing Fed Hock can hang with Athens eh? Don't get me wrong, im a big Bulldog supporter - but I too must be UNBIAS when it comes to Athens County - Especially Friday ... I see a rough ride for Athens Friday at the 'COW PASTURE' ... I Watched a lot of games in Stewart last year and those kids play hard on their home turf ... their strength lies within a large offensive line and they have some big kids on the D-line as well ... that kind of make-up matches up with Athens - so Bulldogs Beware .... I still think ... Athens 28, Fed Hock 21

Re: Week 2 1-0 Athens @ 0-1 Federal Hocking
The way I see it is Fed keeps it close through 3 quarters, then Athens pulls away to win by 10 points late!!
Re: Week 2 1-0 Athens @ 0-1 Federal Hocking
Nelsonville TV Cable will be there to cover the contest. Looking forward to seeing many good friends when we visit.
