Anyone know a good camera to shoot on for sports?

You can get a decent camera to shoot for around 800-1000 bucks. But that's going to be for JUST the camera. The lenses are where you're going to run into the real money. The lowest you're going to pay for a lens that will stop action (or not blur) and zoom in enough to be able to see anything will be around 2000 for name brand or maybe 1200 for 3rd party. You may be able to find it cheaper used on ebay... but that's the gist of it.

I was just talking about the basics, I agree with the other poster a very good outfit will be very$$$$$$$

Hey a buddy of mine bought a Cannon Powershot ummmm.. like 110 or 10 IS. It was 10 mega. and like 20x optical (maybe more) zoom I saw the pics and they were pretty good for the money. Think he said it was like $320-$350 on sale. I thought it was impressive at that price level for a "all-in-one" type of camera.

I was just talking about a camera that will let you stop the action of the game and still be bright enough to be proud of. I'm sure that camera is nice for any other type of shot, but nighttime football is a whole different ball game. Consider making an investment!
