Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
Went 3-7 last year and they beat VC by 31 points. They should win this year, too.
Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
In week 1, they almost pulled an upset against defending region 19 champ Liberty-Union, losing 30-27.
VC definitely has their hands full. . .

Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
BC returns alot of players from last years team including much of the O and D lines, their quarterback, and runningback. They are a pretty balanced team with a decent set of possession receivers, a good quarterback, and an excellent runningback who has packed on another 20lbs. for this season. They played reasonably well against Liberty Union but got worn down after the delay the next day. What does Vinton County have?
Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
Will any of the injured vikings be playing tonight? Perhaps they could make this one not so ugly. . .

Well here we go again, I'm sure Yates is getting his team ready to battle and they will. BUT, has Yates took football 101. hell VC is easy to prepare for. Here is Yates playbook. 1-run left 2-run middle 3-run right 4-run middle 5-run left. Them our old ball coach does do a few passing plays when we are down by 20. gotta love that

Your coach has nothing to do with it. There is no talent on that football field and if you think there is please point them out. BC played pretty mellow tonight. Kilby is a beast.

Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
Vinton County had 150 pound linebackers taking on 230 pound tight ends, trying to shed them only to tackle a 210 pound running back that runs a 4.6 forty. Moreover, the Viking's backfield weighs about the same as the linebackers. However, what I saw tonight was a lot of Vikings players not quitting, playing hard, despite being over match sometimes. There was a bright spot the Vikings defense was able to force five turnovers, 3 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

Well you seem to know everything thats wrong with VC football, lets hear your great ideas to turn it around, or do you just care about kicking the progam when its down. I bet when VC was winning TVC titles and making playoff runs you were on the bandwagon.

Yates isn't to blame and neither are the kids for this loss. I put this one on the administration. I mean, do we just try to find the toughest teams around and put them all on our schedule. Just look at are nonleague schedule. It has to be the toughest around. Jackson and Waverly the next couple weeks. That's crazy. I just don't understand why the basketball team always gets lighter opponents, but the football team only plays the best. We need some winnable games on the schedule. Until that happens, look for VC to continue to get off to a bad start and then be to down and depressed to play good when the league starts.
Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
I am trying to figure out how this defeat is placed on the administration and then you name Jackson and Waverly. I do agree those two schools are tough opponents, but Unioto and Bloom-Carroll? Those two schools are not known as powerhouse football schools. I am not putting those schools down, but what are their records over the past several years?
Also, basketball has 10 more games than football and people don't want to play football against teams that can hurt them. Name some schools VC should play to get ready for their league.

who is this idoit using my name? you need to get my name out of your mouth. I never claim to be a fan of yates. dont know him, i know some of his kin, his folks seem ok. i dont like the people in charge and i dont like the little vikes, and selfish kids who think they are better than they are and there parents. i will add idiots who use my name on the internet too my list of people i dont like.
Re: Vinton County @ Bloom Carroll
Whoever is jumping down the coach's throat on here should lay off. At least one of the problems is the lack of talent. The Vikings lost to some baaaaaaaaaad Coal Grove teams in the early part of the decade and CG was two divisions smaller. Yeah, things are bad now. Buckle down, ride out the storm, and keep supporting the team. That's essential to a good program, IMO. Community support is a must.
