Re: Week 6: (3-2) Wellston @ (5-0) Nelsonville
Although we have played well each week, the play this week was extraordinary. Nate Dean was a machine. 222 yards or so. The passes not completed were still very precise. Unlike some previous games, his deep passes were not simply thrown high in the air. He was exceptionally accurate and his deep throws were right on the money. If he plays like that for the rest of the year, he will lead this team deep into the palyoffs.
As far as our depth is concerned, we are a very deep team at virtually every position except QB. If Dean would not be able to play for whatever reason, I'm not sure that we have a realistic passing threat in waiting. As far as I know, our backup is a senior who has virtually no experience at playing high school QB. He may be a good athlete otherwise, but game experience as a QB is vital. Our third string QB didn't even dress for the game and I've heard he's out for the year due to concussion problems. Those same problems could also cause us significant problems next year at QB if he is unable to play. That young man's health should be the only concern and concussions are nothing to mess with.

NY Bucks - If I recall correctly, at the end of the TV broadcast they said Young ran for 98 yards, Handa maybe 31 and Dean threw for 222.

Just some trivia, everytime you put on a wellston shirt you're halfway there to wearing a bruins shirt. Their school colors were.........blue and gold.
