Week 6 Ironton @ Jonathan Alder
Re: Week 6 Ironton @ Jonathan Alder
I had hope for a half then the same old Ironton decided to show up. 17 - 0 Alder. We can't block, can't run the ball, any time we try and pass it's either a sack or an interception and our defense sucks. This just isn't a very good team.

WOW!!!! How about a little credit to JA? Maybe there was a reason Ironton couldn't move the ball. Maybe JA is a pretty good football team.
Man, this team has gone from a possible deep run into the playoffs to now they are not a very good team and the next two weeks doesn't get any easier for them as they host a 6-0 Jackson team and then travel to play Cols. Bishop Hartley. if they lose those next two games they are looking at a 6-4 season.

Need to get back to the basics for sure.tk421 wrote:I had hope for a half then the same old Ironton decided to show up. 17 - 0 Alder. We can't block, can't run the ball, any time we try and pass it's either a sack or an interception and our defense sucks. This just isn't a very good team.
That blocking is just horrible and the tackling is just as bad

Kinda reminds me of the train I used to ride at Camden Park as a youngster, slow bumpy ride with very little excitement along the way.
Re: Week 6 Ironton @ Jonathan Alder
If Ironton played a schedule like all the local teams play, they would be fine. But Ironton doesn't have the depth of talent of Ironton teams in the past, and this schedule is killing them. Leaving the SEOAL is gonna come back to bite them as their gonna have to play teams like this most every week to get games. Ironton long term is in trouble.

I will say it again the Ironton schedule could help or hurt them badly.
I will add not being able to block or tackle is partly due to the decline of the weight prorgam.
Ironton needs to change what they do in the weight room ASAP or it will get worse.
Ironton is big up front but not football quick and strong.

well i gotta say i'm very proud of the tiger's efforts last night. and i was there. and it was a mess, both teams looked like they had the same playbook. running up the middle all night. very bad footing to even try to get outside. wcich very much hinders a playbook. there is a reason jonathon alder is ranked where they are. and the whole second half they dominated the line of scrimmage. on both sides of the ball. i do not understand why we don't tackle a bit lower. you can't drag a pile, if someone has your ankles pulled together.

though both teams played in the same mess. that is a perfect example, of why i want turf. the elements were really bad last night for anything more last night than running up the middle, and virtually eliminated a speed game, or passing game for either team.

Re: Week 6 Ironton @ Jonathan Alder
Not in this game. Coaching had nothing to do with it. A more talented team beat a less talented team. You said the weather left little room for anything on offense but running up the middle and no passing game....news flash...that's what Ironton does.

i was merely saying to be a great football team you have to be prepared in your gameplan, and have the horse's. dangit don't put words in my mouth i didn't say. i hope you are the only dingbat that took it that way.

How was I putting words in your mouth when I was quoting what you said? I have no idea how someone would take "it that way" that you were talking about a game plan by what you said???

TIGER FANS..
I WANT TURF ALSO.. JUST SAYING IF THE PIONEERS HAD TURF . THEY WOULD HAVE RUN UP 45-50 ON YA.....
PIONEERS DOMINATED BOTH LINES OF SCRIMMAGE. IMPRESSED WITH TIGERS SIZE UP FRON AND OF COURSE
GRIT, AND CLASS OF PLAY.. ALDERS OFFENSE WAS SOMETHING LIKE 300+ YARDS TO LESS THAN 100 FOR IRONTON..
GOOD LUCK WIN SOME GAMES, BEAT HARTLEY... WE CAN'T STAND HARTLEY.. HARTLEY WON'T SCHEDULE US ANY MORE
WE DID PLAY THEIR FRESHMAN TEAM THEY ONSIDE KICK TO START GAME.. HAVE A FLAG, DO IT AGAIN.. (STRAIGHT CITY LEAGUE STUFF)...
THEY DID HANDLE OUR FRESHMAN PRETTY GOOD. SPEED TO CORNER THAT'S ALL THE HAD..
I LOVED THE COACH BUSES FOR THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS.. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAVING THOSE IN YOUR FLEET IS FIRST CLASS,
ALDER SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS SHOULD TAKE NOTE.. THOSE LITTLE PERKS GO ALONG WAY IN WINNING!!

Re: Week 6 Ironton @ Jonathan Alder
I thought the Tigers fought pretty hard. That field was a swamp!! I just don't understand why they didn't even give Trevor the ball the whole second half. I know I am predjudice but I just didn't understand that. I just hope we have learned some lessons. If we continue at this rate we ain't gonna make it out of Ironton. GO TIGERS!!!!!! As always I love you boys and will be there win or lose till the clock runs out every game. Keep your head up and dig deep!! This season is gonna be what you make of it!!!! Seniors if you want it you gotta go after it. Lead your teammates by example!!!!!!!!
