Is there lost hope in Belpre?

Post by screamineagle54 »

I see the TVC pick'em and the Belpre fans pick against Belpre, I just don't understand. Are the fans just giving up? I hope not. Where is the pride? I know we are struggling, but don't give up on the these kids.

The object of a pick'em is to pick the team you think will win not to pick the team you want to win.Belpre fans still root for and support their team but still know that Belpre is going through some tough years right now and will have a hard time winning games.Just because they don't pick Belpre to win in a pick'em contest doesn't mean they don't support them or they have given up on them. Some of us still have kids or grandkids playing for Belpre High School or Junior High and we sure haven't given up on them,we just know that even though the team is down right now that things are looking up in the future with the talent they have coming up from the Junior High and the underclassmen they have now.Even though we know that the team will not win many games this year we are still at the games cheering them on and at the Junior High games as well.

If all hope was lost, I wouldn't be going to the games every week.

Team is improving each game. With a little luck, we could be 3-2 at this point instead of 0-5 but you make your own luck. The majority of the team is sophomores and juniors. Not having a JV team every year is hurting the program. 15-16 year old kids don't matchup well against 17-18 year old kids. Right now, its a numbers game at Belpre and there are a couple of kids that could help the program but they aren't playing because they don't want to be on a losing team.

Very proud of the boys who show up each week/season and are sticking it out during the rough times. Shows a lot of heart by these young men and a love for the game. The wins will come but it all comes down to 2 things...if you can block and tackle better than the other team, you will win. Belpre is doing this better in week 5 than they did in week 1 but they still need to practice it every day.

As for the pickem's, I pick to win.
