We're a very young football team on both sides of the ball. We won our first game by a large margin but struggled in our second game and never really got much going.

I am excited to make my first trip to South Point for a game and am hoping for a good game.

Oh, and to mcstephen10....I said this in the summer...I'd rather go 5-5 without him than 10-0 with him. That's just me, but I don't want someone who doesn't want to be part of a team, school, and community. Teams win football games, not players. 11 make 1, 1 does not make 11.

umm if im not mistaken hes was the only one that scored for you all last year pretty much well at least when we played you it could have been different....but going back from looking from the news the first week pp has a pretty big RB and it will be hard for sp to stop him

He had a good year for us last year but he didn't want to be part of our football team so from that standpoint, we'll roll with the 85 kids who want to be here.

Nathan Roberts is the starting running back for the Big Blacks this year. Nathan was moved to the backfield in the middle of the year last year and was the fullback.

He was the starting tight end for us last year early in the year and they were wanting to use him for that more than having him in the backfield but as the season went on, they chose to move our fullback from early in the season out to flanker and move Nathan in the backfield to put a better blocker back there. Nathan didn't run the ball too much last year, but had one 100 yard game at Ravenswood and averaged 5+ yards a carry for the season.

PP you have absolutely nothing to worry about in sp they have nothing this year, the two best athletes in that school are in 8th grade in mccarty who is in 8th grade for the second time this year just to play fball, and zac alberts who won't even be going to sp next year bc he's transferring to fairland sometime this year.

Good luck to the Pointers. The Burg could use the computer points.

As could Portsmouth, another 6-4 year would be awesome.

point pleasant won 35-0

I mean really this is getting right down embarrasing from a south point grad. We were apart of three straight OVC championships and I just dont see any pride from the players out there but that just my opinion.I think shilot and company are good coaches and I see them leaving the program after this year I really do.
South Point is becoming the new river valley of the OVC.

South Point is definitely not on their game this year. I don't see anything getting any better when they enter OVC play. They'll be lucky to go 2-8 this year and not finish last in the OVC. As for Shilot and the coaching staff, I would have to say they are less than good coaches at most. Their trying to fit players into an offense that is not made for this team and hasnt been made for this team since they began coaching. One of South Point's problems is the off season workout/weight lifting program which is horrible. By far one the worst I have ever seen. But hopefully South Point can get it going before they start conference play.

Coal Grove, 3-1

Fairland, 2-2

Chesapeake, 1-3

River Valley, 0-4

Rock Hill, 0-4

South Point, 0-4
_____________

Total: 6-18........... OUCH!
Not looking good at all for those bottom 4 teams. I think Rock Hill will man up in OVC play and go 3-2 in the conference. They've got more talent than the other three.

Great job Point - Nathan Roberts scored on three touches of his five overall - a kickoff return, reception, and a 67 yard run. Great job #40!

Great job defensively as well guys, most notably senior Brock McClung, sophomore Zach Thomas, junior JeWaan Williams, and senior Derek Pinson.

For the 4th game in a row there has been 11 in the box and we still try to run. When the saftey is 7 yards off the ball there is not much of a chance to break free. You have a 6'3" TE going against a 5'10" saftey throw the ball up and see who gets it. If the line can't block try a cut block(which has been used against us every game). The team is beat up and hurting after the first 3 games but that is no excuse for what is going on. I played for Jupin and there is no way players would be fighting each other on the field. It all comes down to the leadership of the coaches. If a player does not do his job then replace him with someone who will give the needed effort. The season is not over and this group of kids can still have a season to remember.

Thats the offense they run and it works, each play they run sets up another play but the line has to BLOCK and their just not getting the job done and it does not matter how many they put in the box if the line does not block nothing good is going to happen, it all starts up front and the 6'3" guy going against the 5'10" does no good if the qb does not have time to get the ball off cause the line wont BLOCK
