maybe if we arrange for logan to play in the DIV IV playoffs they wouldn't have to play those big ole dII schools they wont get in a conference with and they could start their own playoff legacy to brag about :122245

Or maybe you can look at the first 3 teams Logan has played this year?

tl,

When the school you support is quitting a league i think it is a bad time to mention any league changes so a team can win. Logan seems to be doing quite well. Many championships in the 2000's.

Ironton has won NO championships since the 1900's. Long time ago.

Exactly what conference is Ironton in next year?

When is the last time Ironton's "legacy" won them a championship?

Maybe we could get Ironton into Division VI so that they can continue their "legacy?"

Would someone just please start the WK 5 Logan vs Ironton string so we can just get on with it?

Going down to Div IV wouldn't work...........we have to listen to how we beat up on smaller schools as it is.

All i can say is PORTSMOUTH had at times better athletes but LUTZ could always field a better team and win. LUTZ is why IRONTON closed the big gap in the PORTSMOUTH series,I believe its tied up? :mrgreen hope LOGAN fans are nicer than NEWARK LICKING VALLEYS :?:

I realize you were just pointing out that the first 3 games were against DII or DI schools, but Hamilton Twp. is like Ironton playing Russell this year... just not that good.

However, Logan may have already played (and won) against the best non-conference opponent in Pickerington North. They are looking for real this year. They have big tests the next 2 weeks in Groveport-Madison and Pickerington Central. If they can split these 2, then they are by far the best non-conference team on any SEOAL schedule.

Also, Logan is in a no win situation in this "play teams your size debate". The best option for them would be to join the OCC, but that will never happen. While they are relatively close to Pickerington, they are "too far" for most OCC teams (same concern many SEOAL teams have). Logan can not control other league school's enrollment, nor should they apologize for it.

I recall Ironton having to play teams from Toledo (Start maybe?) and a team from Washington D.C. plus Portsmouth twice, just to get nine games when they were an independent school. So, I would not even recommend that route either.

BTW, I am from Ironton and still love my tigers. However, some of you posters (from Logan, Ironton, nad everywhere in between) are just off your rockers. If I have offended anyone...... sorry, but I call em like I see em.

ATTN: LOCOS, GRIZZLY, and other Logan posters :
There are some Ironton posters ( and others) who are not blinded by the passion.... like many OSU fans are ;-) :-D

you can through lancaster back into the mix of quality D1 OCC teams logan has beaten this year. THEY JUST KNOCKED OFF PICKERINGTON CENTRAL!!

I think its great that logan has made there team one of the top teams in so. oh. but i get tired of them getting on any post about ironton and puting us down, they say we live in the past but so do they, they have beaten us the last few years but isn't that history. I hope all southern teams win (expect against us). even logan

77,

I sometimes think the posters from itown do not get it. I will make one small attempt to answer you. Posting has been around for 10-12 years. During that time a variety of ironton posters have managed to irritate all of southern Ohio about their success and excuses for the lack of success. So the new sheriff in town does kind of lay it on the old one in the forums.

Now having said that, how much sympathy do you think Chieftain fans will get if they ever finish 7-3 again and do not win the SEOAL championship? I am not expecting much compassion myself.

Now if you can grasp this concept maybe you wil feel better

2old,

You definitely got one thing right...Ironton posters are irritating! I'm personally sick and tired of hearing about their HISTORY. I am so sick and tired of them digging up the series against the teams that whip them like the series against Logan and Ashland. So what, what matters is who you can beat TODAY not who you beat years ago! It's always like yes they beat us BUT we still have beat them more!
