Re: Week 5 South Point @ Valley
Valley wins over another not so good team. Valley moves to 4 -1 and should be 5-0 if not for the last 60 seconds at Coal Grove. Valley will struggle in SOC with losses to Burg, Minford maybe Waverly should beat Northwest and West to finish 2-3 in SOC and 6-4 overall.

I agree that South Point isn't much... but I don't know what you see in Waverly and Minford to think those games will be losses. I don't see Waverly being able to play with Valley at all from the info I've recieved about them. I know anything could happen, but I would think Valley is the favorites when that game rolls around. Minford should be expected to beat Valley, but that game reminds me of Coal Grove. Valley's passing vs. the other team's rushing... That will be a good game, and one that Valley can win. I don't see anyone beating Burg this season... and West hasn't looked great, but that should be a good game.
I can see Valley being anywhere from the 6-4 that you said (losses to West, Minford, Burg) to being 8-2... But if the favorites win out, I would say Valley is 7-3.

Waverly has improved that much over a season? I know Valley walked all over the Tigers last year, and Minford won a battle 10-7...I think Valley goes 7-3 at worst.

Another long one for you pointer fans lol
This is why I am glad I graduated last year so I can say I never lost to the dragons.
GO POINTERS
Re: Week 5 South Point @ Valley
Minford and Valley + Valley and Waverly should be very good games; those two will likely make or break their season. Win both and their probably in the playoffs. Win one, lose one is a toss-up. Minford lost two SOCII games last year and still made it in. Valley could do the same.

Without some help Valley will have to go 4-1 in league. Minford might be able to lose to say Valley and Burg and still make it in because of their CG win. CG will be worth a ton of 2nd level points, as they shouldn't lose another game. Who knows how it shakes down and what happens across the rest of Region 19, but I would say Valley would have to go 8-2 to get in the playoffs and that's with a little help. But the Indians just need to keep moving forward and stick to the cliche's like, one game at a time and taking it week to week.

Crab Apple & Coop , I am very close to the Valley scene and I hope your right I would love nothing more to see Valley make the playoffs. I think the Burg game is the only one that is out of reach , but that is why they play the game you never know. Do you 2 guys got to the all the Valley games I will be there. Go valley

W;
I agree the Burg game is more than likely out of reach...I've been to 2 games, I live over 200 miles away, but always make a few..

Do you watch the games on Valleyls.org all the home games are live video and audio on the net.
Re: Week 5 South Point @ Valley
45-6 Valley. SP coaches changed it up a bit and moved in a different QB. That wasn't the problem. Problem is we can't tackle and we can't block. Missed ,after missed, after missed tackles all night long. Keep trying boys!
I say we beat River Valley and the Peake and Hill games will be really close! Really a rebuilding year!. Future looks brighter down the road the 8 th grade and 6th grade teams are doing really well. Can't wait until they all get in high school as a group!

alberts aint going no where theres a rumor like that every year with somone going somewhere else and it never happens and i went into the locker room at halftime during the point game last week and from what the coaches were sayin some of them dont even go to practice that shows how much they want to play....thats why they SUCK!!!! and it sucks for the people on the team that cares
Re: Week 5 South Point @ Valley
It all starts with the coaching. Teach fundamentals. No arm tackles. If your head is behind the runner when tackling (Kiss his butt good-bye) because 9 out of 10 times they are going to run thru the 1 arm in front. It should be hit and wrap not grab and hope the runner falls. Never get beat in the secondary. High school interference is a 10 yard penalty. Why give up a TD. I keep hearing about the line. If you have been going to the games you have seen every player on defence as close as 7 yards off the ball. The line has no splits and with dl & lb coming every play there is no hole to run thru. Passing -same thing every one coming and not enough blockers to stop them. Run quick slants, turn arounds 5 yds down field after a 3 step drop. The Lb are gone so let the recievers catch and run. don't wait until the game is out of hand before changing the offense. SP has a TE who is being recruited by Div 1 colleges and he has touched the ball 3 times in 5 games. Pass to set up the run. Spread the defense out and the run will come around. 3 Runs and punt is not a good offensive game plan. As far as kids not going to practice You don't practice you don't play. I still have faith in this bunch of kids. It is up to the coaches to bring them together and win some games. Go South Point!!
