If not for Carter, the game would have gotten really ugly. He had well over 150 rushing yards. He scored all three TDs, but fumbled on CG's 3 yard line in the 3rd quarter.
Hopefully this DII-sized team can rack up a few more wins and give the Hornets some playoff points!

But lets remember his last long run for a TD came against the second string D, all in all a good game for the Grove, as for those who said this will be the best backfield we see all year, don't think so, maybe the best back we have seen all year but as a whole I would honestly put Minford as the best we have went against with Greenup tied with Meigs. Now lets get ready for the OVC
Not bad for a bunch of boys that Lutz didn't want in Ironton.

He's a one-man show. I said before he'd be the best RB Coal Grove would face all year. The rest of Greenup's team probably didn't have 50 yards of total offense.
If that game is played at Coal Grove next year, the Hornets will slaughter them.

Our biggest friend tonight was the weather, the fact it wasn't raining and we were able to get the passing game going, it completely caught them off guard.

Re: Week 5 Coal Grove @ Greenup County
Coal Grove could go undefeated (which they are obviously not this year since they gave the game to Minford last week) and still barely make the playoffs. Their schedule is too weak, as always. They are a big dog in a small yard who comes off as having a loud bark but no bite. Unfortunately playing half the games against OVC teams doesn't help any team's chances of earning points for the playoffs...especially when you lose at least one of the OVC games like they have in recent years. Yet every year it is the same sob story of why they should have made the playoffs. I hope CG does make it to the playoffs this year, they have talent (and lose a lot after this year for sure)...would like to see them play a team of real ability and challenge. Even Ironton is kinda down this year (depends on your opinion) and Coal Grove is up and they wouldn't be able to beat them.

Fredericktown plays/played 4 teams that are currently 0-4 and 2 that are 1-3. They are ahead of CG in the region.
As I said in another thread, the Region 19 S.O.S isn't all that great at all this year.
Coal Grove will make the playoffs if they keep on winning. They'll get the help they need.
