They did a nice job last year, but now they are mostly juniors and 1 senior and are playing very well together. They don't get the glory, but they are opening up the holes very nicely for the backs.
I have seen Burg this year and unlike some Minford fans I am very impressed. These guys are VERY good. The way Burg is playing right now, they could take down Ironton. I am afraid that Minford will still be hanging there heads from last week and I don't feel good about this game.

Well my brother in law had to cancel the pee wee FB game tomorrow cause the amount of illnesses at the school. and heard from other parents that had kids brought home early. So pretty credible sources, but yeah I guess that isn't 100%
Bottom line is there is something going around and it is effecting the HS's
I don't understand why folks don't get the flu shot, if that is in fact what is spreading. I would think athletes, due to close proximity, would want the shot to prevent the spread in the locker room. In any event, I hope all is well come Friday.
this is true. they had a ton of kids out and leaving school today. probably need to stop school for a few days so it doesnt get out of hand. several JV players sick. they had to play players in a lot of different positions. is other schools having the same problems with the flu?

Nope not me... From what I have seen he is exactly where he belongs. He is much more dangerous when he is able to get a few yard running start. He sees the field really well, finds the smallest crease and he is quick thru the hole. At the beginning of the season I thought maybe he should have remained at QB, but now I'm sure he is where he belongs.
There is at least 1 confirmed case of swine flu at the Burg. Well over 100 kids out sick or left early sick yesterday. I think it is affecting the middle school more than the high school, but there are all in the same building now....
Hopefully the kids will get better throughout this week, overcome the flu, and we will be treated to a good hard fought game on Friday.
I dont really see the Minford kids laying down for this game. The seniors have been in 4 close games in a row with Burg and should really be able to get up for this game since it is their last crack at them.
Minford lost to a very tough Oak Hill team last week and played the worst game I have seen this group play in 3 years. I think they walked in expecting a win to be given to them and they couldnt fight back into the game during the last possesion to go ahead. They are a bad call away from being 5-0, IMO, and if they come out and play the ENTIRE game the way they hit people, blocked, ran, threw, etc against Coal Grove in the 2nd half, for all 4 quarters, they can win this ballgame.
But, the kicker is that this Minford team has shown spurts of being able to do this, but have not done it for 4 quarters in any game that they have been in thus far except for maybe Huntington Ross, which was a blowout.
Minford's line is going to have to play very physical, and Minford is going to have to really mix up the play calling IMO for them to be able to drive the ball down the field.
I watched Burg play Ironton and they got manhandled up front and looked bad against a very good Ironton team. Burg was on their heels the entire game against Ironton. Minford has to be able to do the same thing to win Friday night. They have to win the game in the trenches, throw the ball effectively with short hitting passes, and get Burg on their heels.
If not, it could be a long night for my Falcons. I am sure the coaches will have them ready, hopefully the kids will go out focused and motivated and hit Burg hard all night.
