Green has 70 boys, Notre Dame 36 boys, East 87 boys and S. Valley 108 boys. These are all D6 Schools. D6 is 124 boys or less. Oak Hill has 145 boys and is D5.
Can someone answer why the Oaks are even playing these small school?
The Burg has 150 boys, Valley 152 to name a few of the local D5 schools.
Doesn't Oak Hill play a mostly SOC 2 schedule in basketball?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I seemed to remember Valley not making the playoffs several years ago when they too played a lightweight schedule but had very good records. Valley to their credit, corrected this! When will Oak Hill do the same?
Hats off to East for beating the Goliath several years in a row.

BC, I understand what you're saying and I think you'll see a push from those in Oak Hill within the next few years to fix this. You have to understand that Oak Hill has been awful in football for quite some time. They were awful in basketball just a few years ago until Norm showed up, really.
The football program has been built up to the point now that they can now look to get out of the SOCI.
Personally, I don't see why they left the OVC.

Here's what I'd like to see happen in football (I know it won't, but I'd like to see it):

A) Oak Hill moves back to the OVC.

B) South Gallia takes their place in the SOCI.

C) River Valley moves into the TVC Hocking or goes indy and builds their program back up.

The school size issue can only be validated by Oak Hill continuing to win year in and out. If they start to dominate the SOC I and struggle to make the playoffs then an effort to make a change can build some steam. Valley did dominate the league for a stretch of about 5 years in the late 90's, but they weren't even able to consistently win the league the first half of the 2000's in the SOC I when they were trying to get out.

Fuzzhead, what makes you think Oak Hill can compete in the SOC II, or OVC after the current junior class graduates?

Also, exactly how hurtful is it to their playoff hopes during years when East and SV are also solid? The Oaks play 4 league games. 2 of which are going to garner little points (at least traditionally in the last 10 years or so). 2 of those games are going to be potential big second-level points games against SV and East ( let's East or SV are around 7-3, 8-2). Obviously the first level points are going to hurt them a little, but beating a couple 8-2 or 7-3 DVI teams is going to help more than beating 2-8 and 3-7 DV teams.

I'd say the Oaks can make it to the playoffs. If they play one game at a time and don't look at the records of their opponents they have the talent to do it.

Take the previous posts for what it is worth.( Not much) I have no idea of his methods of how he comes up with his numbers.

Umm... other than the percentage chances of the teams making the playoffs, the other three posts are all personal opinions.

Oak Hill will make the playoffs. Not only will they make the playoffs, there's a decent chance they get a home game.

I agree, but not as much as I used to. The Minford win impressed me.

burg and minford will be really exciting games to watch i hope we get them both
but from watchin ironton and jackson play friday, id say we could take ironton by a touchdown or 2

but at least we have a more challenging schedule next year either way!
