Lost Tiger
Lost Tiger
Charlie Lovejoy passed away this evening in Columbus.Chuck was a 1960( I believe) Ironton High School graduate and the self proclaimed finest 170 pound guard to ever play the game.He always said Woody Hall would never have made it to OSU if not for him.The 2 have remained friends over the years.Charlie was A great uncle and even better friend

Re: Lost Tiger
Charlie was a great man and also a great football player and I know Woody and Steph as well as the Ironton faithful are going to miss Charlie. Mrs TTT graduated with Charlie and he was always a lot of fun at the class reunions.......
RIP Charlie

I am sorry about the loss of your uncle. My dad said the same things about him as TTT posted. Great person- great football player.
I recall another Fighting Tiger football player that loved to talk like this:

Tribune obituary:

Steve Willis was an awesome talent too. He was headed for a "special" football career at Marshall University before a career-ending injury cut short his freshman season. I will never forget watching Steve rack-up the tackles as a starting, freshman LB for the Herd.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family IPride.

Re: Lost Tiger
I just returned from his funeral service. His daughter put together a collection of pictures that were his "important" photos to be displayed at the service. They included his family, his army unit, and the 1960 Ironton Fighting Tigers.Unless you were part of this football tradition in this town you just don't understand.Thank You all for the kind words
