SOC1 East (3-3) @ Symmes Valley (5-1)
SOC1 East (3-3) @ Symmes Valley (5-1)
Symmes Valley is #5 in 6:23 and are currently on a tear. Talk of playoffs is definitely back in the air out in Willow Wood.
East's reign as SOCI Champ has likely ended and Oak Hill has come to power as the cream of the conference. They are down this year for sure.
I think Symmes Valley wins by two TDs.
Thoughts on this one?

Whats going on with the Tartans? Third loss this year and this team that was suppose to be a 9-1 or 10-0 team.

Re: SOC1 East (3-3) @ Symmes Valley (5-1)
First I'll address this notion that the Tartans should have gone 9-1, or 10-0 this year. With the schedule and returning a few quick weapons many thought that type of season was a slight possibility. High expectations are a good thing, especially coming off of the past few seasons. People want to believe that they have got a program in place that can rebuild after each season and not just fall apart. That's very hard to do at the small school level. The reality is this....
The Tartans lost one of their best players before week 1 in Z. Rawlins. He would have been one of the better defensive players in the SOC and losing a player of his caliber is a huge loss for a small school that was thin to begin with.
What many of you seem quick to forget is exactly how many good players the Tartans lost from last season. They lost three All State players in C. Mault, J. Howard, and Hoover. In addition to that they lost some guys who were three and four starters with numerous district and SOC accolades in N. Hood, A. Jones, and possibly a few others who I'm forgetting. The Tartans lost some extremely good players and some "glue" guys as you can see.
Playing at Symmes Valley this week will certainly be a challenge. I doubt the Vikings shut the Tartans out. The Vikings have beat one team with a winning record in Southern, who hasn't beat a team with a winning record. These two teams have played two common opponents (three if you count East's scrimmage vs. Southern) and the margins have been similar. I seriously believe that East would be 5-1 had they played Symmes schedule thus far as well. These two teams appear pretty even to me. The game being at SV will be a big factor. I expect a close ball game won by the team with fewer turnovers.

I somewhat have to disagree....losing Larry Hall was a loss, especially at the time of the year and how late it was he left.
Also his record as a head coach speaks for itself.

I agree tartan true D. Davis was the best coach of the last 3 for east. GO VIKINGS
Re: SOC1 East (3-3) @ Symmes Valley (5-1)
A win against East and the Vikings can pretty much count on playing in week 11. Yeah, they're going to get beaten by Oak Hill, but after that they've got two games against bad teams to end the season.
Re: SOC1 East (3-3) @ Symmes Valley (5-1)
I think East will come out with their heads up and get the win, I didn't think they were the best team in Soc 1 coming into the year, but I still think they are second best...I do think it will be close, but East has played a pretty tough schedule and will be ready to pick up win number 4...and even though the Hall's are great coaches, and davis is a good one, I do think Bond is also good coach, he just got a team that wasn't as strong as the last two years...but I still think East will win out and finish 7-3...as for Symmes Valley, its good to see them get back to their winning ways, but I think they also go 7-3, and unless Southern can win out if a lost to east might be an end to their playoff hopes

I agree with sider east just dont have all the great players thay had last year. They have good set of Seniors on the feild. The line just isnt up to par like it used to be. I think bond should just stick with the old game plan what the boys are used to. Thay also need to pass to all recivers not just jordan garret.
East wins 17-7

I think East comes out on top in this one. The Line needs to step up and play, I havent seen a game all year where the line has pushed people off the ball. If the Tartans come out and play to their potential then they will put alot of points up on the board. The garretts, Stringer and Adkins need to step up and lead the team to victory!!!
