There was definetly a fumble, just a question on whether or not his knee was down and NY Bucks cleared that up.

Tank Stadium can drain off up to 1/4" of rain a day...after that, it's going be mighty messy ;-) . Hopefully, this will be like the Ironton @ Jackson game where it stopped raining till the end of the game

In watching this video, I'm guessing that a NY player recoverd it because it sure did look like a fumble before the goalline was crossed and that extra point was very close to a miss. The ball was kicked so high it was hard to tell if it was in between the uprights.

I have to go with Ironton by three scores.

You must have x-ray vision, as you can see the ball coming loose through an official's body.

What are you talking about? Are you saying that there wasn't a fumble? All I was asking was the player for NY down before he fumbled and NY Bucks answered the question. Yes, the player was blocked, but he said that there are pics on here of the play and I believe him.

There was a fumble. He was never down. The question was whether the ball crossed the goal line before the fumble.

You said it looked like he fumbled before he crossed the line, but in the video, the player is blocked by an official when the ball comes out. So, unless one can see through the official, there is no way of telling if it was a "fumble before the goalline was crossed." Also, the angle of the video would make it impossible to tell even if the official was not in the picture.

1992 Nelsonville team must have been pretty good to only lose to us 14-0. We were state runner up that year and had Jermon Jackson running behind Walt Delong and co. Its rare to have to future Buckeyes on the same team. Of course we eventually lost to Mentor Lake Cath. Joe Jurevicious ate us alive w/ the long td catches.

in '92 I absolutely hated watching Ironton lose a championship...but when eleven kids from that team went to a div 1 school...you know you have faced a good bunch when you are playing division 4 football....Jeravicious was for real..and he could catch anything close...it was exciting watching such an athlete...not to mention the others on the field...Jermon was one of the top backs in the state that year..if not the top...and Walt was the top lineman...but they didn't hold a candle to Joe...Hope we can get there this season...these boys have stayed focused this year and really worked hard...a great bunch of kids...they deserve making a long playoff run...let's get it started tonight...go Tigers

1992 Nelsonville-York 10-1 (8-0) TVC
@ Athens 35-0
Logan 33-7
@ Meigs* 29-0
Alexander* 34-0
@ Miller* 34-0
@ Vinton County* 41-7
Federal Hocking* 41-0
@ Belpre* 34-0
Wellston* 27-0
Trimble* 34-14

Division III, Region 12 Semifinals @ Portsmouth
Ironton 0-14

Season analysis:
This was the final season of the unified TVC. This was also one of NY's strongest teams ever. Even though NY lost to Ironton in the opening round of the Division III playoffs, NY held Ironton to fewer points that year than any team except the team Ironton faced in the State Championship Game. By luck of the draw, NY lost to the eventual State Runner Up team in '92. NY played Ironton closer than Sheridan did in the Regional Championship and NY played Ironton closer than Germantown Valley View did in the State Semifinals.

From irontonfootball.com - Ironton - 1992:

Portsmouth (A) 20 14
Greenup Co. KY (H) 42 0
Huntington East WV (A) 62 7
River Valley (H) 48 18
Portsmouth West (H) 64 0

Regular Season Totals

PLAYOFFS

Nelsonville-York (N)- Regional Semi-Final Spartan Stadium - Portsmouth 14 0
Sheridan Regional Final (N) - Spartan Stadium - Portsmouth 49 12
Germantown Valley View (N) State Semi-Finals - Dublin 23 0

Wow what a great flashback. Does anyone with a better memory than me remember if that was when we were in the short lived league T.S.A.C.(Tri-State Athletic Conference) or were we independent then? I only attended two of the regualr season games and all post-season games. I lived in the forbidden state of Mighigan, attending Western Michigan University, and working for Damon's at the time, and I had to really beg for a friday or saturday off, or switch it with another college student which was hard to do if they had weekends off as I was still a waiter then and not in MGT yet, and I just remember driving those 11 straight hours to games or less once it was post-season, then spending the night at my parents in Ironton(R.I.P), and then driving fast back to Kalamazoo EARLY sunday morning for work, sunday evening. I would literally change clothes in my car in the parking lot of Damon's, work my behind off, get very little sleep all weekend, and have 8 am class monday morning. Those were the good ole days. I do remember the NY game being close though, and then the state championship was an honor, but Mentor Lake Catholic was unbelievably good....anyway two hours til game time, and 17 years later, I call the shots about weekends off(the benefit of a big company like disney and a union, and lil thing called seniority),and if i could afford it, id fly in for every game....Allegiant is cheap out of Sanford, FL (30 miles from home) into Huntington, NON-stop. Anywhere from $18-118 each way year round, but they change the rates every day and its up and down up and down, so, I chose to wait for post season this year to come home, otherwise, i would have picked this game....gotigersgo!!!! get the ball!!!

 And then you wonder why Logan fans say the things they do. ;-) With that being said..nothing but respect for the Bucks..but gonna have to go with the Tigers on this one. The kids wanting to get the record for Lutz..at home..I think the Tigers are gonna walk away with it. But I do think it's going to be a close game. Good luck to both teams!

Unfortunately, there are posters on both sides that just kick the heck out of respect for one anothers programs. It has been hard to bite your tounge when such bashing is going on, but turning the cheek is just the best thing to do and wish the other teams well. It still is difficult when, once the darn game is over, its over, yet people just have to chime in on one anothers teams' when really no-one cares what you think!!! Especially When you have been a championship team regardless of how long ago it was, and you're consistiently good for almost 4 decades representing the south of the state, and then You have another team that can beat you while they are up for a few years, and you still give them a game, it's hard to turn the cheek, realizing you did your best, you've been consistiently the best, and really you are expected to always be the best!
I do think that the bridge of Coach Lutz leaving and coming back, the lack of boys that wanted to play, the lack of discipline/conditioning the past several years we witnessed is over & now the boys are back to the basics, true tiger pride is being instilled in the younger kids, thanks to the coaches in the elementaries on up, and there will hopefully only be good things happen for all.
NOW someone in the tri-state correct me if I am worng but My I phone weather app says Ironton has a high of 70/ low of 52 and rain early... It does show a HUGE cloud with rain drops as the Icon for todays' date, then describes what i Just said when you push on it. Darn, these I phones are smart cookies.. Keeps me organized as heck.. I swear Big Brother knows everything Im doing when it is on though.. hehe.. really they do....
