i don't recall anyone saying anything even remotely close to anything like that.

Then you haven't read anywhere on this thread where the Oak Hill offense is going to be to much the Coal Grove to handle, that they are going to run all over us and throw the ball like they are a D1 college team, you haven't read anything like that on here, I would have to say you haven't been reading all the post.

Oak Hill's offense is really good.
Coal Grove has proven this year that they can win a shoot-out, though.
The question is: what about Oak Hill's defense?

21 points? LMAO!

Listen Tigers90, I watched Minford play both this year. Against the Grove they came out flat, CG returned the kick for a TD and the last 4 minutes of the second quarter till the end of the game they dominated CG's running attack and ran and threw the ball all over them.

Against OH Minford played a very sloppy game. Slone had over 100 yds rushing for Minford the first half then didnt see very many carries the second half. Too conservative the second half and they got beat. Oak Hill runs the counter and trap as good as Burg or Minford. They throw the ball very well.

One thing is certain, this is not a 21 point win by either team!
You never know it could be. Coal Grove isnt Green, East, or Notre Dame. Its one thing to beat up on those teams or River Valley its another to play a team like Coal Grove. Take out Minford from both teams schedule and Oak hill only really has one good team they played and thats Symmes Valley while the Hornets have played and beat some pretty tough physical teams. Ive seen a lot of the teams on both OH and CG schedule play this year.
If you are giving Oak Hill 21 points you just tell me where to bring the deed to.....cause it just so happens I am in Ironton and will bet the farm on it.[/quote

i wanna get in on this action if u think cg will win by 21!!!???
however though this will be a battle....ive watched both play minford...and to be honest im not sure who the better team is or if the better team will even win....i think the difference is jesse slone...he will pick apart cg secondary...close game oak hill wins 22-16

If cg is depending on just being more physical then oak hill then they are in for a long night. The oaks have proven that they can play physical football this year when they beat minford. IMO slone will be to much for cg and that will open things up for hale.

The Oaks do play pretty good defense too fuzz. I agree, Coal Grove's schedule has been better than the Oaks. The should benefit them some in the game. I look for this one to be a very good one. The key to this one is that you MUST get some pressure on Slone somehow.

I don't have a dog in the fight so I'm not gonna argue either way, but Oak Hill's defensive line is as strong as any Coal Grove has seen, and they have athletes in the defensive backfield...against Minford they ran a 5-2 with a walked up safety to backside (to stop the counter and sweep) and played a cover 3 shell probably more of the same against the Grove, but it doesn't matter what they run if they can't execute...Coal Grove is strong and Oak Hill is strong it will come down to Turnovers, special teams, and winning first down (which are obvious in every close game), but it will also come down to whether or not Oak Hill is soft after not having a close game in 5 weeks? And how will Lucas and Coal Grove handle the big game, recently they haven't done so well, they've done better this year, but it will be true test of who makes less mistakes and who doesn't want to quit, both are Strong, both are talented...Coal Grove is senior-laden, they won't want to stop...Oak Hill is a team of Juniors (2 and 3 year starters however)...a lot of the time Junior heavy teams will say "theres always next year", but if the team of Juniors are just better and want it as much that doesn't matter.

Oak Hill in a close one. Home field advantage will figure in this one.

From Drew Pastuer

Oak Hill (10-0, D5 R19) by 3 (58%) vs Dawson-Bryant (Coal Grove) (9-1, D5 R19)

I am loving this, the Hornet team I have watched for 10 weeks thrives on being underdogs and people thinking they can't, our boys will be coming out strong in this one, just to prove everyone wrong.

Coaching will be the difference in this game, and we all know who has the better coach. Coal Grove - 31 Oak Hill - 28!

Been mentioned briefly on this thread already, but I heard yesterday that 7 or 8 Grove players were in a wreck involving alcohol. Any new word?

Alot of Coal Grove people on another thread were talking about how this team doesnt have respect for the coaches, each other, and people around them.

This is proof that the coaching staff has lost it down there. You can blame it on parenting and be right on, but if they really respect the coaches and their team, crap like this doesnt happen, especially at this point in their season.

Hope none were injured.

Lots have been asking about what time they should get there for a seat on Friday. I am not sure because we have never had such a game. The visitors side I would guess would be full before 6:15-6:30. Their are plenty of standing room only spots available at Davis Stadium. Parking would be the main reason I would get there early though.

Coal Groves pass defense better be more prepared than what they were against Minford. I stopped and watched the 2nd half of that game and after CG went up 30-18, Minford got the ball and scored in I think 3 plays, 2 by the pass. Minford moved the ball right down the field on them with ease those last two drives.

I have seen both play and I think that OH's defensive line makes the difference. I had heard that their nose guard was no longer on the team. He was an animal. If that is the case, I don't know but nonetheless, I think Oak Hill wins in a squeaker.

I heard that he got kicked off the team because he was rubbing snuff in class....If that were the case South Gallia wouldnt be able to field a team. Thats a bit steep if you ask me.
