Hopfully the word is "Improvement"! VC has a lot of talent coming up, so hopfully things start to change next year for the better and VC gets back into the thick of things in the TVC!

They could always do what Athens did and join the TVC Hocking and play smaller schools, ignore the fact that the schedule is easier and talk about how great they are. I do look to see the Vikings improve this year. How many seniors did they have last year? I heard they are getting a nice group of freshmen as well. They will not help early, but they can continue to build on what has been developed.

VC may be down right now but it won't be long before they are kicking some serious "donkey" again.

Do you think VC will get a new coach this year Hawkeye or will they stick with Yates?

What?
Did I miss something? Isn't Yates still the coach? I know I haven't heard any different.

Is shanes wife working in vinton county schools? I think people think he wants to join her that is where that rumor is coming from.

I heard this was the rumor down Jackson way from more than one person. You would think if VC is going to make a change or stay the same, it would be announced soon so the new or current coach can start preparing for next season...as far as i know VC still has some games to schedule, and im sure the coach (whoever it may be) will want to take part in that.

No, I just don't see it. Coach Wolford left Jackson to be involved in his young sons lives. I believe they are 3 and 5 or something close to that age. If the rumors are true then you have to ask yourself why Vinton County? Coach Yates is the coach and will be, until he doesn't want to be the coach anymore.

Glad to hear it, hawkeyepierce. Yates deserves a chance to get this thing turned around. It will happen soon.

I agree that things will be on the up and up at VC...and i personally dont care who is the coach as long as our kids learn the game and respect and morals ect. that football is suppose to teach. I realize it isnt about wins and losses so much as it is these things i just stated...but the only thing that concerns me is that VC hasnt been this patient with the last couple coaches. I really hope whatever they decide, is whats best for the kids. I want to see a VC team give it their all and learn morals ...which is what i think has happened this year..i didnt see anyone of those guys out there on the field quit..and i didnt see any coaches quit..and thats all you can ask for. So reguardless off what happens..lets just hope its in the best interest for the kids. ...With all the talent we have coming up next year and for years too come...the wins will follow. VC will soon be back to where they were before..and thats on top. Just want to say congrats to all the seniors this year on 4 great years..i know they will go on to do great things.

I'm a huge VC fan and excited about the players we return next year. I think we can win 6 games which is a huge turnaround.
