Re: Alexander @ River Valley week 5
The worst thing was getting shut out again. We have to score points. Our defense gets so worn down throughout the game.

The defense plays hard!
Alex scoring dribes were:
11yards on recovery of a RV backward pass
18 yds alex punt hit rv player in back recoverd on 18
Drive about 55yards
Rv pass int 35 yards
Drive 60 + yards
Over on downs 44yds
We shot ourselves in the foot the first half score should have been 7-0

Someone tell me if this is true or not. I heard that Alexander was up 28-0 midway in the 4th quarter & they still had their starters in, threw 3 or 4 passes and ran a FAKE PUNT & finally scored their last TD. If they were doing this kind of stuff, that is totally classless...and dumb. They could be getting starters injured in meaningless mop-up time.

Really don't know why they did it prob the same reason they scheduled the 5 teams in Southern Ohio with the worst combined records the last 6-8 yrs.
They are the 5th best team in the TVC that I have seen. Not a lot of overwhelming speed, pretty good athletes and the team is small on both lines. QB looks good in warmups not a real accurate passer I think he completed maybe 4 or 5 passes.
I don't think they will beat Wellston,Meigs Nelsonville,or Athens
River Valley is a QB away from being a pretty competitive team!

ole bobkitty if they are the 5th best team in the tvc it sure doesn't say much about your team getting shut out. Sounds like you are more than a QB away.

ole_Bobcat,
Thanks. That's unbelievable...passing and running fake punts to run up the score.

Between this and seeing the 80-14 score, you almost have to think it's no coincidence. Alexander is a solid team, not taking anything away from them, but they are going to get a reality check once they get into TVC play. They don't play a team with a winning record until week 8. They will most likely finish 7-3 or 8-2, and even with that kind of record, they will fall well short of making the playoffs because of their weak schedule. As of the end of week 4 Alexander was the lowest ranked 4-0 team in the Division 5 Region 19 rankings: that in itself is reason enough to stop playing teams that they know 3 years in advance they can take to the woodshed.RationalVoice wrote:Someone tell me if this is true or not. Who they going to beat?
Meigs? No
Maybe Wellston?
Nelsonville? No
Athens No?
They are not a playoff caliber team.

Bobcat, a quarterback away! You're putting this on one position? Come on as fans we have to
Be more realistic. I think we can get there with time, but this statement shows me that you truly don't understand football as much as you think you do. Our line has holes and our backs do not have the vision to find seams at times. We have other areas with holes to. Don't make such ludicrous statements without any real analysis other than what you observe from the easiest position on the field to criticize. When you watch a football game, do you see the whole field when a play is going on or just where the ball is? If you really want to analyze and understand football, train yourself to see the play as a whole and not just where the ball is.

A QB away
. Didn't Meigs only beat RV by 22 points? Alexander had 6 holding penalties and started 1st and 20 numerous times. They fumbled 3 times, 2 being in the redzone. You forget about those fumbles pretty quick. Alex did play sloppy but they needed to play 4 quarters of football before leauge play. 5 first downs and 63 total yards..... I think you are more than a QB away from being there. Alexander needs to clean it up before leauge play. 3 lost fumbles and 85 yards in penalties won't cut it vs. league teams.

Re: Alexander @ River Valley week 5
Meigs dominated RV much more than Alex. But you can't really base things on common opponents in football. It's much more complicated. Matc-ups or mismatches, team strengths, adjustments and much more have to be considered. I say meigs and Alex will be a good game.Sue E. Side wrote:A QB away. Didn't Meigs only beat RV by 22 points? No one asked you how good alexander was either. It don't matter what kind of record the team you are playing has when you are getting shutout every game.
Re: Alexander @ River Valley week 5
throw you kids under the bus much?
read the write up of the game. less than 70 yds total offense? turnovers? penalties. a qb away? maybe if that qb is denard robinson.
defense gave up over 300 yds rushing?

Re: Alexander @ River Valley week 5
Without having seen either team play this year, it appears that Alex may have gotten away from fundamentals.
If that is the case, then the coaching staff needs to trump up.

Your pretty classless, your a GA fan why do you come over here and bash RV? You seem to always throw your 2cents worth in on every opponent? I played at GA in the 70s i have grandchildren at both schools. What your doing isn't fair to the kids. What bobkitty meant was if they could stop turning the ball over the qb did 4 times they could possess the ball they would not give up 300 yards
I agree the qb they have now is a good kid maybe not a qb. I think he has about 12 turnovers this year.
I was at rv that game should have been 7-0 at half.
Go root for GA boast about your 6-0 loss where we got horribly out coached!
Do you see RV people coming over bashing G A? Most usually they wish us luck!
Your classless and my ladt reply to any of your negative posts you have showed your ignorance many times. Your not worth a reply!

Will you just stop! I would love for our team to lose to Ironton 6-0. You bring on bashing by some of your posts. You really shouldn't call people ignorant. All you van do is accuse people of being on drugs, bash kids and continue to show a lack of any real football knowledge. One player is not the problem. A lot of his picks thrown were blown routes and missed catchable balls. The fumbles can be attributed to the fact that he gets hit as soon as the ball is snapped at times. The team is making too Manu mistakes not just Whobrey.
