Congrats to all local players who made the team.

A special congrats to Jackson's Kip Winchester, Kruize Wandling, Ryan Mullins, Ryan Klingaman, and Eric Landrum.

Coach Andy Hall was the DII Co-Coach of the Year, which is a well-deserved distinction. Good luck next season, Coach!

IMO Jackson's coach shoulldn't have had to share district coach of the year honors. He did a wonderful job this year.

I disagree completely. Jackson beat one team with a winning record. Four of the teams were very terrible, Vinton County, Wellston, Chillicothe and Marietta. Gallipolis had a very down year and the other win came against Waverly, who didn't have a very good season (three of their wins against Northwest, Vinton and Wellston). Jackson only improved two games from 2008.

A candidate who could have been included was the coach from Court House who took a 1-9 team and led them to six wins somehow and they beat two teams with winning records. They finished ninth in the computer points while Jackson finished 13th.

circlevilletiger......The entire population pretty much projected Jackson to go 3-7 or 4-6 at best.

Very few, if any, thought they would go 7-3 with only losses against Ironton (8-2), Logan (10-0) and Zanesville (9-1).

Keyser but did Jackson beat anyone they weren't supposed to beat? The only team that would qualify is probably Portsmouth. They got handled by the score in the games they weren't expected to win. I'm sure the coach did a good job, but I question the preseason prediction with several give me games in there.

The job the Court House coach did with his talent was pretty good. They improved five games from the year before with just about the same team.

I don't want to offend anyone but to say the Jackson coach was a clear choice I think is a stretch.
