Nelsonville-York (Playoff hosting site)

Post by FANOSPORTS »

I've watched a few games there over the last few years, both league and playoffs. Took in both Ironton playoff games this year and have to say there was an improvement between weeks 1 and 2 with the restrooms (portables) that were brought in, a few more bleachers and the police being down on 78 and 33 directing traffic at the end this week and having the lights flashing at the upper end of town so it doesn't create a traffic jam going north especially. Being from neither school I overheard fans talking both weeks about these two things. 1.) Walking to the home side for the good stuff in the main concession area from the visitors side and 2.) still not enough seating. I guess a lot of older folks stayed home for that purpose alone from listening to people talk. These are things that are corrected by trial and error just like anything else though as you all host more games in the future. Other than that, parking was great, friendly staff (parking, ticket takers, concession etc.) and for me some of the best dogs with sauce I've tasted in a while with a great field to play on. Thanks Nelsonville !!!!! :-D

(p.s. - It's funny too, watching people trying to park in the guys driveway before you get to the field (on 78) as it abutts the field with people doing zippies trying to get back out. Last night the guy posted a sign saying PRIVATE DRIVE and people were still driving up in there)

Boston Field was able to host 3 neutral playoff games this season and they all three came down to the wire!!!!!

Lots of exciting playoff football at Nelsonville-York!!!! Hopefully we will see similar exciting playoff games at Boston Field in the years to come! :)

They done a great job again last night. It's a beautiful field to watch your team play on. I have no complaints...

well.....ok..maybe I do..ha! :122246 it's more of a suggestion, not a complaint...that grill you guys have running? You have so much smoke running across the field that you actually diminish some of the nice lighting you have. Just a thought really.

Otherwise and again...awesome job. Porty Pottys sure helped and having them on the outside of the stadium too was a good head's up move as well

I am glad that everyone had a great time. I know I sure enjoyed watching all 3 games. I knew that given the chance Nelsonville-york could do a great job hosting. I hope next year NY makes a deep run into the playoffs so I will be watching them. Thank you to everyone who came out to support your teams. We were honored to have you in our community.

i had a great time there, the nelsonville people are top notch, friendly down to earth people, just like the tigers fans. the food there was great, the place has good lighting , nice feld. we very much appreciated the extra bleachers , and restroom facilities. great atmosphere for games. you can't say you did not have a team fill up the visitor side now. because it was overflowing with tiger fans. had a great 2 weeks there. so many i'd like to thank personally. :-D

The main concession area always has the better field, the concession on the away side is just the basics. Thats how its always been to any game iv been to.

It was a nice place and everyone was friendly but I do not think it was big enough for a regional final, visitor side was to small and the extra bleacher didn't help. I didn't mind walking to home side for the pork sandwich, would love to see the tank do somthing like that.

It was a great palce and Nelsonville did things very well.
I think next season when they host it should be D-5 AND/or 6.

I am counting down the nights until Newark Catholic travel there next season.

I hope to meet a lot of the good N.Y. fans.

I thought NY done a great job. Nice facilities. I will agree that a few more seats would be wise but, would gladly forgo the seating to once again to play in a geographically fair location. I didn't mind the drive or accommodations.
