Week 3 Piketon (1-1) @ Minford (1-1)

Post by FarAwayFalcon »

Streaks lost a thriller in the last seconds against VC last week.

Minford has a sour taste in their mouth after a loss to Wellston.

Both teams are looking to get back on the winning track.

Who's your pick?

Minford will right the ship. Unfortunately for Piketon, they will be the team that has to show up and play what should be a very p!ssed off Minford team Friday.

Piketon 7
Minford 35

Coach Daniels get his feather roughed up, I wouldn't want to be a Red Streak this week.
Minford in a big way.

I dont really think Minford knows what kind of team they have yet. They have looked really good and also looked mediocre. They have a very strong, athletic line but I havent seen them play to clobber people yet. They have a trio of good RB's and a few nice WR's and a QB that can throw if he sets his feet. They basically have the talent to be a good team and make the playoffs. I guess we will find out if it is in them or not over the next few weeks!

I think most of the players know they let one get away from them last week against a good Wellston team, not taking anything away from Wellston. An early loss in a close ballgame sometimes isnt the worst thing in the world, especially if it serves as a wake up call.

I guess we will find out Friday night which path this group of seniors choose to go down.

Minford just needs to take care of the football and they'll be fine. What many of you at the Wellston game havent mentioned is that Minford had 5 turnovers and should have had 6 if the Wellston player didnt drop an INT that hit him right in the hands. Bottom line, you cannot win a game with -5 in the turnover department. Minford has made adjustments and expect them to come out with something to prove to the area.

It would be nice to see Minford work on their passing attack and get more balanced. When Minfords behind with 2 minutes to go, 1 TO and 70 yards away to score, the run and sweep is not going to get it done. Defenses are just going to load the box and go one on one with our lone WR and dare us to pass in these situations. We seen it last year against Oak Hill in the play-offs when they were forced into a passing attack with the game on the line. Minford has the talent to pass, tall WRs and QB. Minford wins tonight.

Very sloppy, but a win is a win. Minford players didnt look fired up in the 4th and Piketon started throwing the ball well. Turnovers let Piketon back in the game after Minford hammered them the first half.

Good luck the rest of the way to the Streaks.
