If Coldwater expects to beats burg they better pack them a big lunch that might take awhile. burg will be ready, you can take that to the bank.

Like I've said before and this is not being cocky. Anytime a Burg team steps onto a field, doesn't matter who they are playing, they expect to win that game. It will be no different come Friday starting at 7:30pm.

It will be at Xenia thats just about half way for each team and a easy drive for both teams. Four lanes for the Burg and mostly two lane for CH2O if they go the fastest way.

Coldwater has been there so many times, that this is just another day at the office for them.As already mentioned their schedule as them more than ready for this, especially their league schedule. gain no disrespect to the Burg or any teams on the schedule, but any way you twist it they are not comparable.

Now do not get me wrong, the Burg has a lot of talent and they play very good football. If everything goes their way, yes then they could get the win. For Coldwater I think a mistake or two would not kill them.

Now Burg please go prove me wrong.

Newark or Zanesville would be a good spot for this game, at least for me.

Never went to game tonight but watching on Time Warner Zane Trace ran the ball really well against Wheelersburg's nickel defense. Wheelersburg will have to play nickel against Coldwater's spread. That isn't a good sign.

I disagree with you here. Coldwaters offense is a team that I believe is a great matchup for the burgs d. The only two teams that moved the ball successfully was power teams, eventhough burg eventually shut them down. Valley couldn't do anything against burg out of their spread. Burg still will have to play great to win but so will coldwater.

these 2 teams have flat dominated their opponents. week 1 against ironton was the burgs smallest margin of victory at 14-6. and coldwater's was a 17-14 victory over marion local. other than that these 2 teams just destroyed their opponents.

both beat 7 teams with winning records.while holding opponents to nearly nothing pointwise defensively and they just ran roughshod scorewise over their opponents.

these are 2 teams that are just flat getting it on. I remember an ironton team that was given no chance against akron saint Vincent saint Mary's in 79. and walked away with a state championship. and I remember in 89, at the shoe watching ironton and wheelersburg winning the state championship. I feel that burg matches up well with coldwater, and i know they don't feel a bit intimidated.this one will be won in the trenches. who are the other 2 teams left.

This thread might be like the Ironton-Burg playoff thread that got started before anyone knew the game was going to be played. LOL

Someone mentioned how Coldwater has 80-85 players on their roster but in looking at the program, 22 of them were Freshmen. You add the Burg Freshmen to their roster you are looking at around 70 on the Burg.


Burg has been good at causing fumbles (another forced fumble last night) and would need to do that in a game against Coldwater and limit there TO's to 0.

If they don't matchup this week, I look for both to win there games and then meet in the final. The Shoe will be rocking if that happens.

This burg team is special. And so is the pirate community when your born and raised in wheelersburg like I was from kindergarten on all you want to do is be a wheelersburg pirate football player. I still wish I could have been but I moved to chillicothe my 8th grade year. These boys deserve this and so does wheelersburg since I have been there alot of the business and store's are gone but the one thing that will never be gone is pirate football. I still remember how great it was in grade school when they open the doors under the stands and you stand by the field gate and gave the pirates high fives as they came out. These pirates didn't just show up in highschool and say I want to play football they have wanted this all there life. And I believe December 5th is there special day this day has been coming for 26 year's and this chillicothe pirate wouldn't miss it for anything. I know we still have one more game to get through but I believe!!! Go Burg Go!!!! bring the trophy down 23.
