Re: Notre Dame 2010
I do believe that ND has lost one of their most vociferous of cheerleaders. Here's for the best in any future on field endeavors.

Re: Notre Dame 2010
One thing you can count on, ND's highly successful Air Raid has been put to rest.
Here's hoping, 3 time, living in the past poster "blueandgold" has nothing to do with the ND game plans.
One "single" opinion of the many, I am sure...

You are with the majority (and with no pun intended) it will not come to pass.

Many fans will be surprised as to the final makeup of the 2010 team...
Hope you mean "pleasantly surprised."

Left myself wide open for that.
Just don't like 2.4 yards per carry.

Just need 3.34 yards per carry to move the chains before 4th down...
Your math is suspect.
At 2.4 yards per carry, you are looking at 3rd and long.
I prefer the Air Raid's passing average of 6.5 yards with 14 yards per completion.

What team are you talking about?

ND only saw glimpses of this ability in 2009 against East...
Come on, you know that rushing yardage was part of the Air Raid package.
And that package at ND has been put to rest.

That would be great. But that's not what I read in the Times reporting new ND coach.
Quote: "We're going to try to run the ball and try to pass on play-action and three-step drops."
One would have to assume that is not the shot gun.
Looks like blueandgold will be getting what he wants.

It makes no difference, the TF Air Raid has been put to rest.

It seems that I hear this whole "were gonna run play-action and three step drops" thing all of the time, but the majority time play-calling in Southern Ohio works like this...Run on first, Run on Second, throw a bomb on third, punt the ball...it seems like that it is a sin to pass on first down...now I'm a West side guy and I love to see teams run the ball, but teams down here do not work on the passing game enough during the game...I think Notre Dame has the team to pass the ball, but Ashley is a good coach and they must buy into system regardless of what he calls, because he is the coach
Re: Notre Dame 2010
Let's give blueandgold something to ponder.
In 2009 ND rushed for only 1050 yards.
In 2 games (Manchester and Greenup) which every team put up huge numbers against ND rushed for 502 yards.
Then in 8 games ND rushed for only 548 yards, 68 yards game, 2.4 yards per rush.
Of that total the returning RB's rushed 107 times for 203 yards, 1.9 yards per rush.
