OHSAA has our game as Saturday, 9/4. This is the night of the River Days Pageant. Many folks will miss the game due to this.
Can you verify the night of the game?
I will try to find out. Two years ago the same thing happened, the pageant was held during a home game.

Haven't seen anyone to ask. Expect it to be a Saturday.
I like Saturday games better anyway, you should know that.

GCHS won 2 games with Carter in the backfield (Raceland and East Carter) -- they were 2-6 with him in 2009. GCHS will be fine without him.
BTW, if you want a comparison game, then go back to 2007 when GCHS' freshmen went to and defeated Coal Grove's freshmen in a fantastic ballgame. Great goalline stand by GCHS to win the game.
You really cannot use that example, as 7th and 8th graders this past high school team went and beat Oak Hill, the same Oak Hill team that took us to the woodshed in the playoffs last year, but back to Greenup County, last years game would have been a lot closer if the weather conditions would have been different, this year Greenup comes to us and on the turf where weather won't affect the running game that much, should be a great game this year.

Re: Greenup County 2010
How about last years game, yes weather didn't help Greenup but it didn't help the Grove either, I don't see Greenup winning but I do see a closer game than last year, and to go back to the game you are talking about the one question I would have to ask is how many times did Greenup throw the ball, I can guarantee it was more than the game last year.

I was talking to a guy from Raceland that said GC should be loaded this year. He said he thought that Ashland and GC will be the best teams in eastern Ky next year. What do the skill players look like for next season. I know they were young on the line last year, so should be much better.

But, the proof is in the pudding!
Sounds as though you are sandbaging a little Tob...lol. Who will be in the backfield with Carter not there? I was pretty impressed last season with the run game. The only other time I have watched an offense like that is when Johnson Central came to the burg a few years back. Burg couldn't stop them.

As good if not better than last year, plenty of speed on this team and the senior leadership to keep this team from having any of the attitude problems we had last year, this team could be a lot better than last years

I'm gonna predict Greenup wins that game. They have always had talent_ and it sounds like it is alll coming together. I really like the option run game that GC is now running.

I remember this kid breaking a few tackles in the CG game, but don't recalll him looking big enough to put up weight like that. Are you sure those are legit numbers?

I do believe that the ND Qb lives in South Shore but has always went to ND school. Didnt the Greenup County Qb once go to ND?
