Jaylen Prater/Northwestern
Jaylen Prater/Northwestern
The post on Prater committing to Northwestern is gone. If some one posted something bad enough to get this post deleted it is shameful. We should all be supportive of a big ten offer to a SE Ohio football player, or an athelete in any sport. Rivals still has him committed to Northwestern. Rivals has him listed as a LB. I am looking forward to seeing him play this week. I hope to see a great effort by him this week, but being a GAHS supporter am also hoping its in a losing effort.

jaylen is a great young man i feel so proud to know that he has a offer from northwestern he is a great leader for are high school football team good luck jaylen you deserve it and thank you for staying at wellston lead your team the rest of the season go blue..............
Re: Jaylen Prater/Northwestern
Contests on the offer and verbal. Northwestern is a great school in an awesome town! You have to hit up Mustard's Last Stand when you go up for your visits, sits right outside the stadium.
Re: Jaylen Prater/Northwestern
Jaylen Prater is an outstanding athlete who has size and great speed. What we all need to realize that when your playing for a small high school and you are that good, everyone will be keying on you. Offensive lines will change their blocking schemes to make sure prater is taking care of. If its a trap play where the the center and guard normally doubles the nose, they will single block or cut the nose and climb the guard straight to a good middle backer. The same goes for a power play and counter and many other typical run plays u see in SE Ohio or the TVC. Point is, every team that plays wellston, their goal will be to shutdown prater and you will win. No doubt about it. When Prater gets to college he will have stud D lineman in front of him that will demand double teams and keep pressure off LB's so they have time to read and fill gaps correctly. He will not experience that freedom at wellston this year with everyone keying on him. Therefore he probably wont seem as dominant as the normal fan would think to be going to a big ten team, but he is. Good luck to jaylen and he will do very well in college academically and on the field.

Great post. Its a team sport and no matter how good a player is one cannot beat eleven.

Re: Jaylen Prater/Northwestern
Best wishes to Jaylen at Northwestern next year. I find it ludicrous that any person would say something lewd or derogatory about a high school athlete getting a Division 1 scholarship. Actually, I find it pathetic. Not many kids from this area get such an opportunity. I just hope he survives this season without a career-ending injury since he's every opponent's #1 target.

I never saw an individual thread about Prater's commitment before this one. I've checked the moderator logs and the moved forum, and I can't find any record of it being deleted or removed. The commitment was originally mentioned in the Wellston/Minford game thread for last week, where several people congratulated Jaylen on his amazing accomplishment. Hopefully there weren't any derogatory comments that I, or the other moderators, missed. Again, congratulations to Jaylen and good luck to him in the future.

It is always great to hear news like this. Congratulations to Jaylen on the offer to northwestern. Its great to see kids from southern/southeastern ohio getting opportunities to play at a big ten school. I have got to see him play a few time in the last couple years and he is a standout player on both sides of the ball. Best of luck on this season and many more at the next level.

The one I started about a player was removed.....I just wanted to know his college aspirations.
It's kinda sad when you can't find out info like that on a sports forum.
