Well, here I am finally. I'm new to all this so please bear with me for awhile. Went to the NY v. NC game Friday night. Wow, what a nice place to play high school football. Got there early 'cause I wasn't sure about all the logistics of the area. Great crowd for small school football and all in all it was an enjoyable experience except for a couple of small things that I hope the NY folks will rectify. I mingled around and settled in amongst some people and finally began to try to talk to some of them. We all had the same problem, the music coming over the PA system was so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. Then came game time and the announcer compounded the situation by talking so loud and so often that we were left to hand gesturing. They should know that the microphone is there so you don't have to yell over the speaker system like that and the crowd probably only needs a little information beyond what is displayed on the scoreboard. It isn't necessary to scream like that. Well, now that I've probably alienated myself from NY fans, I did have an enjoyable evening there and will surely come back again (with ear plugs). BTW the food was real good and the drinks were cold, just the way I like it. And, it was a really well played game by both teams.

Oh yea! Thanks for the air horn!! That wasn't to loud or anything! I actually liked the air horn, but if your gonna conmplain about the music being to loud maybe you should think about the air horn that I am sure all of the elderly people in Buchtel just loved.

From the chain gang side of it...it is a pleasure to listen to what the coaches and kids are saying...i have one thing to say...NC's asst coach ( a real big guy) is a jack ass. I hope he reads this because the comment about "like playing at Amanda" was uncalled for. You didn't get homered and we didn't either...Got the last laugh though when we wrapped him up in the chains and took him to the ground. Good luck NC and also to the Buckeyes...

If this comment is directed at me, you are quite mistaken. I am not now and never will be from NC or Newark or anywhere near there. I live in another area not far away and just wanted to go to what I thought was a good high school football game because I used to have friends in the area. I did not intend to step on anyone's toes, just made an observation. To tell you the truth, I hate that darn fog horn. I remember some school (Fisher Catholic, I think) a few years ago in a playoff game against Trimble up around Lancaster had one and I felt it was too loud for such a venue. Heck, those little canned air horns are not allowed most places and they do not compare to the fog horn. Sorry if I ruffled some feathers. I will still try to make it to NY again this season, but with my ear plugs, just in case.

Newark Catholic should have had two other touchdowns in the first half if the big receiver could have held onto the ball with 2 perfectly thrown passes by the little guy Vernau. How about the "train whistle horn", it overshadowed the cannon as far as noise. I bet the N-Y folks didn't know what the hell was going on. I loved it even though it was a little hard on the ears and it went on all night long.

I don't think you want them on the schedule yearly. You saw the scores of the JV and Freshmen games and their jr. high teams are loaded right now. This year and last are down years as far as talent at NC varsity level regardless of how they finish the year.

1.) Not a TVC hater, actually I hope someone in the TVC wins a playoff game this year.
2.) No one said Wahama is the best team on earth or even in the Hocking (Time will tell)
3.) Most Hocking teams should get smoked by the Ohio teams (A lot of size & numbers difference)

Anything else I supposedly said that I haven't ?

The person who let the guy with the airhorn into the stadium should be fired.
Yes the PA is too loud at Boston Field...It always is.
O & B has no clue about the noise or the game of football.

I personally thought the air horn was cool. I like the team spirit, just wouldn't want to be sitting in front of it.

The train horn is a tradition that dates back to the glory years of the 80's championship teams. It is not the original, but the guy who has the horn played during that time. It gets a little annoying at times when we are trying to communicate on the field. We were yelling at him to quit it but he did not listen during that final drive.Good luck to you guys and we will see you next year up at White field.
