Week 2 Shenandoah @ Belpre
Thoughts? Belpre played Warren tough for nearly 3 quarters.Had 1 TD called back and failed to score after recovering a fumble and moving to 7 yard line. Those two scores could have made it a very close ballgame.Warren has a good team and should win a lot of ballgames. Look for Belpre to get their first win in a couple of seasons at home this week.GO EAGLES!!!!

Belpre did play Warren very tough..but then Warren turned it on. Belpre will win most of their games this year after the performance I saw from them. Their skill players alone are very talented and will keep them in almost any game. I like Belpre in this one.

Re: Week 2 Shenandoah @ Belpre
I myself, remember that this is just my opinion, would not say "then Warren turned it on". Belpre with a smaller number wise squad, playing both way on a hot August night, just plain got wore completely out. This happened to Warren a few years ago, when they had thirty players or less, (right after Grider was done), on the sidelines, had guys going both ways in the heat, Belpre had the numbers that year and kept fresh bodies on the field. Warren hung with them first half and part of third, then the legs were gone. The heart was there but they were worn out. I do agree, Belpre, in my opinion will/should be the odds on favorite to win the Hocking? Division of the TVC this year, fighting it out with the Tomcats of Trimble. Their skill players as as good as most anyone.
So on to the game. The Zeps and The Eagles should be a great High School football. Playing at home give the nod to the Eagles 21-17

no offense to you auburntgrfan but I love it when people predict scores involving field goals. lol. I'm not sure if Shenandoah would even attempt anything other than an XPT all year.
As for this game, I'm going with the PVC team. The Zeps have good skill players too.

Re: Week 2 Shenandoah @ Belpre
Shenandoah is just a well-coached team and will more than likely have a winning season. Zeps had a nice come-from-behind win vs. Frontier last Friday so if coach Johnson's Zeps win this one they could be a contender in region 19.

Re: Week 2 Shenandoah @ Belpre
selonmc no offense taken. Are you saying that the Zeps do not have much of a kicking game. Or are you saying their offense is that strong that they will not need to ever try a FG? Come on give some insight here. I am a Warren fan and am basing my thoughts on the proformance I saw at Vincent last friday by Belpre. By the way the Eagles have a pretty solid FG kicker.
Re: Week 2 Shenandoah @ Belpre
The Zeps beat Belpre last year 28-6.
The Golden Eagles have lost 13 straight games since their last win on October 10, 2008 vs the Vinton County Vikings, 33-21.
If Belpre plays the Zeps for 4 quarters the way they did the Warriors for the first 2 1/2 quarters, they should get their first win of the season.
Do not expect the Zeps to merely showup because they are a good team and will be a challenge for Belpre.
I expect a hard fought Eagle victory on friday night. Good luck and good health to both teams and...

Auburntgrfan, I was just speaking in general about small school high school football. 21-17 is an NFL score. You're more likely to see a 21-16 high school score. But I was just joking. Maybe Shenandoah has a kicker that can boom them. I have no way of knowing.
I'm picking Shenandoah because I know they return good skill players from last year. Their freshman QB from last year is one year older so I expect improvement there too. Belpre's recent lack of success makes me skeptical to pick them even though they might be improved.

I'm looking for Belpre to pull out a win on this game. We will not have Francis which will hurt us, but I think with the way we played last week, we can do it. Good Luck Eagles....stay positive and kick some A**.

Re: Week 2 Shenandoah @ Belpre
From what I heard he has chemicals in his eyes that is preventing him from playing on Friday. Not real sure why he has the chemicals, that is just what I heard.

This week we have had kids not practicing for what ever reason. IMO, even if they have a legitimate excuse for not practicing at least they should show up just out of respect for Head coach Adams who had triple bypass surgery a week ago and he has been to every practice this week, and because it is the right thing to do.

I agree with you, but can't answer for the other kids who have not shown up, hopefully it's for a good reason. I give kudos to Coach Adams for being there every practice. He's amazing.

Back to the thread....I am amazed that coach Adams was at the game on Friday and has been at practice this week.
No pun intended but it shows you what type of heart he really has, one that is made of gold and gives his all to the team.
Continued best wishes to a speedy and healthy recovery!
