This game can be a lot of reps to prepare them for Logan.

It will at worst give valuable varsity experience for many players that they can use versus Logan.

I'd like to see Ervin and Arthur both over 125 yards and Kip over 100 passing

Vinton County has struggled so far this season, but I'm sure they're getting better each week. They're learning a completely new system and Coach Burleson and his staff are trying to bring a new culture to the program. The Vikings will be very motivated for this game, especially with several former Ironmen on the staff.

Jackson has to be ready to play football from the opening kickoff. This is the last game to get ready for league play, so the Ironmen need to make sure they're on top of their game. I'm sure they'll try to establish the running game once again with Arthur and Ervin, and use that to set up some things for Kip and the passing game. Defensively, Jackson will have to be fundamentally sound to slow down VC's option attack. Coach Hall and his staff will have the Ironmen ready to go.

Not saying the Vikings are goin to win...but they did have a halftime lead on Jackson last year...anything is possible! The Vikings are much improved from last year and if they could've hit on a couple of big passes they could have beaten a good Pikeron team last week. The Vikings biggest strength this year is their run defense and I look for a game much like last week. Jackson should control the game and win by 3 touchdowns...but crazy things have happened, so you never know! I dont however look for Jackson to blow the Vikes out of the water.

Dundas,

You're exactly right. Anything can happen. Vinton County will be ready to play, and I'm sure they will have improved even more from Week 2 to Week 3. They're getting more familiar with their system and things are starting to click. Jackson will have to play very well to get a win. I'm confident that the Ironmen will do just that, but the Vikings will be a tough test.

Just took a look at the extended forecast. Might be a few showers on Friday night, but the temperature should be great. High of 72 on Friday and a Low of 51. If rain does become a factor, I doubt either team will mind. I'd expect to see the football on the ground A LOT in this one.

I'm pulling for VC but Jackson will likely roll the Vikes by several scores.
