Who executes the w-t offense the best? Gallia or Marrietta never seen Marrietta yet but I know Gallia is like a well oiled machine right now. The four headed monster of a offense has been to much for anyone so far. Special Teams play has been night and day better than last year .The defense has held being very stingy with other offenses factor all that in with Marrietta lookin for revenge for last year defeat and this will be a very explosive game I'll take the Blue but it will be a great game with Marrietta bringin there A-game to the field good luck Blue Devils
Re: Gallipolis (3-0) @ Marietta (2-1) (SEOAL)
Marietta is more of a finesse wing T offense. This game should be a good one, who ever makes the least mistakes on offense will come out with the win. Morgan Wynn and Matt McKitrick are the real deal in the backfield.

This years team has made monumental strides from last year.....They are fun to watch.... Should be a win this week.... Weeks 5-6-7 will tell us a lot about this years team.... IMO winning 2 out of 3 games would be a big success for this program....
Why does everyone get so stuck on records of the teams they played. Wellston has a 1-2 record but pounded a really good jackson team that alot of people say will be in the running for the SEOAL. I don't take into consideration records when looking at friday night matchups because look at the teams that make playoffs at end of the year with .500 records or have even seen teams with losing records make playoffs and have a good run. So i don't look at records I look at the quality of the opponents faced because that is what gets us playoff points. I say the Devils will go 4-0 and yes I agree weeks 5-6-7 will tell alot but you say that yet Logan is 0-3. Does that mean they will be a push over? I wouldn't count on it. I would rather play an undefeated sub par team then a winless Logan who always brings it.

We are good enough to beat anyone on our schedule but not good enough to take anything for granted. Im not talking about the team because I hope the team doesnt even read this stuff, but Im talking about our fans, because to a man I believe our coaches and players would be the first to acknowledge the importance of the fans in the stands beginning with G-FORCE all the way to those who invest their time in supporting them by showing up.
Something very good and very positive is going on in Gallipolis and we need to take that to Marietta Friday night and then come home to ring the bell!
GO BLUE DEVILS!

Love the pic. These kids have so much energy and I think our team feeds off of it. I love to see this kinds unity. Adds the extra something to homefield advantage. Keep up the good work G- Force

good stuff on the fan support. Loved the spread offense the last few years and outscoring teams, but it is a nice feeling knowing we win games with a nice running game and stout D under the new regime.

b or b, I agree, the o wasn't what was broken but the blocking and tackling aspect was horrible and not Blue Devil football. Combine that with lack of weight training and having no stamina and we were destined to fail. Hopefully we can keep coach Eddy around and allow his system and mindset to trickle down creating an even stronger program than we have now.
G-force is loud and proud and I have yet to see any crowd comparable in our area.

G-Force is something unmatched in this area and practically takes the home field advantage on the road every week. Again, sitting above the entire Athens section in week 1 I could hear our student section above all the noise on the field. And they didnt let up from the time the team took the field until after the game was over so that they could be with their team. I would like to see the pregame student tunnel restored. Those kids could ressurect a dead man!
We had over 90% of the visitors bleachers filled in week one, and then upon arriving back in Gallipolis after midnight, many of these same fans could be seen at Memorial Field watching the team "RING THE BELL." And these werent just the kids; they were the adults, the lifelong Blue Devil supporters. Amazing!
The band seems to be experiencing a revival of sorts after several years of a revolving door of band directors which, IMO, really hurt what has traditionally been one of the very best contest bands in the entire state. Nice to see their numbers coming back, and they are an important part of "setting the table" in the pregame; from the time they come down the steps and march in front of the home stands blaring out the fight song, to the tunnel they make for the team to run through while playing the fight song.
I'll say it again.....no team on our schedule travels as well as the GALLIA ACADEMY BLUE DEVILS!!!
There isn't a team in southeastern Ohio that travels better than the Gallia Academy blue devils. What's even more impressive is the fact that they play in the SEOAL. A league which traditionally has always required more travel than any other league in the state.

I agree. The blocking and tackling hasn't been this good since the Saunders era.

Only when Gallia has the ball .. lol .. No rain in forecast ...
Good luck to both teams

"The blocking and tackling hasn't been this good since the Saunders era." The SEOAL must have been very weak back in the early 2000's.... How can you not block & tackle and win 3 straight SEAOL titles...HMMMM...

Can you believe these jokers on here...?...And there some who listen. Just a couple of facts.....At least half of the "Saunders" era teams teams were way below average to poor teams. Fact.... And......Larusso and Jchip dont know shi....from applebutter....I would say more but not in the mood because of the disaster......I understand that Athens High School and their stadium are severely damaged among other venues and communities. The campus,Nelsonville....horrible.

Those teams won in a different way. It was a mix of the high powered offense and superior athletes. There is nothing in the world wrong with that. I loved watching those teams, but the talent level is no where near what it was in those days. Meaning that fundamentals such as blocking and tackling need to be number one on the priority list. It seems to me that the coaches have done a terrific job getting that through to the kids.superblue wrote:"The blocking and tackling hasn't been this good since the Saunders era." I will not dispute anything you said, 4ever.....I have not said anything Negative about this years team or the coaches.. They are improving every game and are fun to watch... In the past 10 years or so GAHS has put some pretty good teams on the field...Maybe they were not the best tacklers or blockers...But they got the job done....3 straight league titles....Not bad.... This coach has done a good job, I will give him that.... Lets wait a couple more years until we judge his overall success...

Saw an earlier post on here where Rutter Field, home of the Athens Bulldogs located in The Plains, was destroyed by a tornado this afternoon or evening. Athens has cancelled classes for Friday.
Bulldogs were slated to play at Chillicothe Friday night.
They say the AHS pressbox and visitors bleachers were destroyed and goalposts uprooted.
