Finally, TVC play has arrived. Hopefully, the Rockets are healed up and all hands are on deck. Outside of the Gallia game, I believe the Rockets have competed very well. They held the Minford offense to 10 points, played OH well and held sloan under a 100 YDS, and obviously the big win to start the season. The combined record of the rockets opponents thus far is 18-7, that speaks for itself. This team, if healthy, can be competitive on the field with anyone in the TVC. I will take my alumni in this one. Go Rockets!!!!!!

As I predicted after week 1 when the rockets beat the Ironmen , they will be a 500 team. Nelsonville will get the win and then a big suprise.

Wellstons next suprise will be when they lose to Athens.

Big Bummer after they thought they won a State title by beating Jackson and then end up 5-5.

How can a prediction be sustantiated when there is half a season left to play? FYI, I, amongst many, did not perceive the victory over Jackson as winning a state title. However, it was a great victory, which infused a sense of expectation and excitement into the fans of the rockets. That expectation had been subdued in recent years...if this team plays the way they did against the ironmen(4-1) or Minford(5-0), they can hang with anyone in the TVC.

Throw the season records out the window. Wellston has something to prove and Nelsonville York is coming off a non-league loss. Nelsonville York is the team to beat in the league, and Wellston shouldn't be counted out of any game they play this year. Good luck to both teams, and to Boilermaker.

I looked at all of the teams these two teams played and then all of the games those teams and played. Then I did my best Jethro Bodine mathematics and came up with a prediction of Nelsonville York 24 Wellston 16.

"IF" as you said , not a big deal Wellston beat Jackson and now is 4-1 , all there opponents have losing records except one and thats not Wellston.

Now on to Minford , Minford let Wellston back in the game , Minford man handle the rockets, they shut them down, Wellston had a couple big plays and I believe the Rockets also had some black and white stripe help.

Nelsonville will outplay , outcoach , and beat Wellston again. Nellsonville takes there TVC league title's serious and will add another this year.

Go Bucks.

If wellston mixes it up a little bit on offense they will move the ball easily on ny. Look for J Kerr to have a big night I predict he will be in the backfield all night creating havoc!!!

My colleague Kevin Wiseman of The Athens Messenger is covering this game for both papers (The Athens Messenger and the Jackson County Times-Journal).

Enables me to travel to Trojan Coliseum for the Jackson at Portsmouth game.

Should be a good one in Wellston, good luck to both teams.
