It will be a close game either way it goes, No way can anyone honestly believe other wise. The Pirates will be ready to play against Minford as they always are. I hope for a good, honest, injury free game and of course a big W for my Pirates!
GO BURG!!!

I cant belive how many fairweather Burg fans are on here, wow!
Burg has lost to two outsatnding teams, a, what appears to be a loaded I-town team and a healthy Oak hill team by less than 14 points total in both games.
In the Portsmouth Game, if we did'nt get burned on a couple of deep balls we blow them out. And Fairland and ROck hill were blow outs. The team could'nt get that inspired about Rock hill, considering their coach was in the hospital, it was homecoming, and it was against a 0-4 team.

I know I would be a nervous falcon fan this week, becuase the burg may just be a sleeping giant.

If Minford wins I'll eat some crow but Im guessing Burg wins and wins by a couple of scores.

Minford and Burg are both good ball teams, but I don't think that either one of them are as good as they were last year...Minford soundly defeated a good Oak Hill team, and although it probably would have been different (Im not saying minford would lose) if Oak Hill had Sloan, but they didn't and Minford has the important win. Minford has played a pretty good team in Wellston and a great team without their most impactful player in Oak Hill, and they played well in both of these games, but they haven't had to play with their backs against the wall. Minford has a lot of speed (which is scary), a good system, and 4 capable ball runner including Slone who is one of the better backs around.

Burg on the other hand has played a great Ironton team, a great Oak Hill team, and Portsmouth. Burg has a great oline and a great running back, and a couple of other weapons, but if you stop Shank then you stop the burg, question is can Minford stop the oline + shank.

Ill definitely give burg the advantage in competiton played. Ill also take Shank over any of the Minford backs, but Minford's stable as a whole is better than Burgs. Ill give the advantage in front 7 to Burg, but Minford has a better secondary, Burg is weak in the secondary and prone to the deep ball. In order for burg to win they must put Minford in 3 and 6+ situations where they have to throw, Minford hasn't proved they can effectively pass the ball when needed, they must also have good end play to contain Butcher because he will burn them like Oesch did last year on those 3rd long situations. In order for Minford to all they have to do is control the line of scrimmage/ stop shank, but this is not an easy task.

Verdict: This game will be an emotional dog fight between two very good teams, both teams run the ball well, where as Burg is more power, Minford is more speed, and speed kills...however, I think Burg controls the pace and wins game 13-6...Minford will burn Burg for deep, but I think that Burg will ultimately bottle up the run game

I think this Game will be decided by the Defensive play of both Teams, so I have to give the Edge to Burg there; Just a little more Experience IMO. If its a Low Scoring Game, Burg will Win because I believe their Special Teams are a little better. On the other hand if its a High scoring Game I believe the Falcons will come out on Top. Either way It will be a GOOD GAME!!!!!!!!!!

Burg 42-14. Shankweiler decides he brings his "A" game and runs over, through and around the little red fowl coons of that stretch of road between Slocum and Stockdale. Just a wee bit wider than a railroad track.

They have some experience shutting down feature backs, this year and last.

Why don't you go get some more posts deleted for poking fun at the mentally handicapped?

This is a scary game for the Falcons.IMO Wheelersburg is more than capable of winning this game. The Falcons are comming off a big "payback win" against the Oaks who beat the Pirates . I see a let down this week and any let down means a loss for either team.

Wheelersburg played a "full strength" Oak Hill, Minford did not. I would love to see this game, but my Senators are calling me north.

The Burg is playing at home and has had a few weeks to game plan for Minford. The Burg wins this game 28-7.
