SEOAL: Gallipolis (4-1) @ Logan (1-4)
SEOAL: Gallipolis (4-1) @ Logan (1-4)
Thoughts. Chiefs just won their first game. Will they continue to rebound next week? Will GAHS be able to move on after that initial loss at Ironton Friday night?

Re: Week 6 Gallipolis (4-1) at Logan (1-4) Oct. 1
Good Luck to the Devils this week, take it to the Cheiftians.
Re: Week 6 Gallipolis (4-1) at Logan (1-4) Oct. 1
Devils confidence has to be shattered after that big time beatdown at I-town,while Logan might be getting a some back after their first win and having homefield will help therefor I see Logan taking a 21-7 win and surprising a few....
Re: Week 6 Gallipolis (4-1) at Logan (1-4) Oct. 1
Sun will still come up tomorrow hopefully,,,, but I predicted 7-3 or 6-4 this year, no surprise here, might end up being a little worse but a couple of the games were more lopsided that I expected, but they are rebuilding for once and thats bound to happen eventually,no more superpowerhouse teams at Logan in the forseeable future but they will improve year to year IMO...

4-ever, you hit the nails on the head. this is a huge and pivotal game for the devils. Everything that worked the first 4 weeks didnt work in the first half at the tank. One good sign (if any) to come out of the tank was we did compete in the 2nd half.
We need a good week of practice and a nice rebound at logan. The worst thing that could happen this coming week is for us to look at logans record and underestimate this team and game. IMO the chiefs are still the "big dog on the block"
Then again, could it be that coach lutz has one of those teams that will make a deep playoff run? They sure have all of the tools for that.
Anyway, its a one game season, next friday with our old friends and rivals.
LETS GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have a right to your opinion, but I promise that the Devils are not "shattered". Let's remember that last year they were 2-8 and were never shattered.

very well put, another game , i'd like to see. but i think the seoal crown goes through jackson and gallipolis this year. and i see the blue devils winning a close one in logan this week.
Re: Week 6 Gallipolis (4-1) at Logan (1-4) Oct. 1
This will be a close one i think. Logan has a little confidence going into this game and i think gallias was shaken by that loss .
Logan 21
Gallia 14

While Logan did manage to get win #1 on the season last friday night lets not forget that it was Marietta that they beat, a team that will struggle in the remainder of their games and with very few players for a D2 school. Gallia has the edge in this game for sure but confidence is huge in high school football and Logan has the size to compete if they can eliminate some mistakes and come together a little more. Good luck to both schools.

Logan's defense bent but did not break last Friday ...
The offense struggled, but had its moments .....
Some Friday night, they may just put it all together.... This Friday? Who knows....

Re: Week 6 Gallipolis (4-1) at Logan (1-4) Oct. 1
If Logan could do this year what Ironton can, I would put stock in what happened on Friday. Since Logan can't, last week in insignificant.
It's like saying Logan has struggle because they lost to Lancaster.
The truth is, Gallipolis has an identity, they know who they are, and its a team that COULD win the SEOAL.
Logan on the other hand still has about as many questions as they do answers. The defense still hasn't stopped anyone, but did show improvement in shutting out Marietta. Is that unit turning the corner? They'll face another strong wing-t attack on Friday in the Blue Devils.
On offense, just when it looked like they were figuring things out, they took some steps back on Friday against Marietta. Obviously the weather, missing a guard and a receiver, along with the injury to Jurgensmier took a toll on their production.
Can the Chieftain offense get back on track? Can the defense keep improving? If so I think Logan can challenge Gallipolis and get back in the SEOAL title hunt.
Beating Marietta was a MUST win game. But it doesn't tell anyone much about Logan. A win over Gallia Academy would make a STATEMENT that Logan won't let go of the title lightly.

A win in Logan and we remain one of only two teams in the league with an unblemished record; Jackson being the other. I believe Jackson is 2-0 after bombing Warren, We are 1-0, Portsmouth, Chillicothe and Logan are 1-1, and Marietta and Warren are 0-2.
Chillicothe is also 1-0 in the league. They had their "bye" in week 4 playing Athens.
Re: Week 6 Gallipolis (4-1) at Logan (1-4) Oct. 1
Last September, during Gallia Academy's Hall of Fame game, powerful Logan rolled over the Blue Devils 57-6. It was one of Gallia's worst defeats ever in SEOAL play.
LHS had 22 first downs to the Gallians six, rushed for 174 yards in 26 tries and five TDs, then passed 38 times completing 23 for 390 yards and three TDs for a total of 564 yards rushing and passing. LHS also had a safety in the first period. Logan ran 64 plays to Gallia's 44.
Friday's meeting will be the 77th between the schools since SEOAL play began in 1925. Before Logan's great run the past six years, GAHS held a 36-33-1 advantage over LHS. The defending SEOAL champions now lead the all-time series with 39 wins against 36 losses and one tie.

These so-called confidence statements are really bothersome.
How could anyone not associated with the team possibly know anything about their confidence?
Maybe a little bit of "wishful thinking"?
I am sure that the Devils will be very well prepared and plenty enough confident. :12223

Taking the Devils in this one, very headstrong group that wants to win. Devils by 2 scores.
