Seems like we let this one slip away after getting momentum. Logan comes out in the second half, finds something about the Gallia defense and adjusts and goes right down the field and scores. I'm thinking, here we go. The defense holds, then the very next offensive series, Logan goes back to the old game plan, bogs down and from there, the game deteriorated. Mistakes (on the Gallia TD before the half, coaches were frantically yelling to get players into position), penalties and turnovers contributed to the loss. Why didn't Logan keep working the short out passes that Gallia couldn't cover to start the second half? Run it until they stop it, then take advantage of their compensation. We're still learning to play competitive football and the kids are really trying but it is getting late. Still pulling for you guys; just keep grinding and working.

gallia's running attack to much for logan good win for the Blue. Logan's record is very misleading as they are a pretty decent team they will suprise some teams the rest of the year The Blue takes on chill next week both undefeated in league play should be a barnburner!!!!!

Jurgensmier was 5-7 passing in the 2nd half. I'm not sure if the GAHS defense adjusted or if the offense played keep away. 2 turnovers (one on a bad qb/back exchange) made a huge difference.
Same story for Logan. The defense struggled to make stops in key situations and the offense still lacks any identity. A combination of inexperience (which can't be an excuse in wk 6) and injuries have made their impact felt.
Logan has made a lot of the mistakes champions can't make - bad penalties in key spots, turnovers, and special teams miscues (at Jackson after cutting the lead to 7).
Like D&c I'm still behind the Chiefs!

On another note, congrats to the Blue Devils. They are certainly the most improved team in the SEOAL. I'm happy for Coach Penrod - I know this was a special win to come beat the chiefs!
Coach eddy and staff have done an outstanding job with this team. Good luck to the blue the rest of the way!

Congrats Devils! Logan shot both of their feet off with those stupid penalties and turnovers,,it was actually a pretty competetitve game like I expected at the end of the 3rd quarter but they layed an egg in the 4th, unfortunately...thats where it counts the most! Another goal (league title) pretty much shot now, just have to keep playing for the old purple and white pride now and maybe play spoiler, keep playing hard seniors you only get this chance once in your life, might seem like a drag now but trust me you will remember it the rest of your life so give it all you got no matter what the circumstances,,speaking Logan losing their first league game at the new field, heres one that will stimulate the mind, when is the last time Logan lost a homecoming game?

I couldn't agree more. Something HAS to change..Logan fans are not "spoiled"
as everyone keeps saying, but Logan fans can see problems when they are there to be seen. Logan has a long and rich tradition of powerful and successful football teams because of the potent mix of coaching and talent. I've stated my opinions of the players this year before but my opinion has shifted to something we CAN change..coaches. I'm not going to call out the head coach because as we've seen in years prior he is very very good at implementing offenses and he had been working with Dale enough years to know what's going on and what calls to make. What we do need is....a defensive coach that knows what the hell he's doing. Dale was always the defensive coordinator and did a masterful job at it. But Dale is no longer the coach...so if we can't change the talent level or abilities of the players then we can at least get a top notch set of coaches. The kids can't get better if they aren't being coached on what they are supposed to be doing right in the first place. If Logan is going to change anything then let's get a new defensive coordinator..I don't care how un-talented the team is 40+ points per game against a Logan defense becoming the norm is completey unacceptable.
I'm sure everyone will flame me for "calling out the coaches" but I'm just stating what, IMO, everyone has on their minds anyway. I keep it real..even if real isn't what people want to see or read. We can expect another 1 or 2 win season next year if we don't learn to play defense!!
So...what say you everyone..I'll be looking forward to people's thoughts here (Dazed&Confused)

Re: SEOAL: Gallipolis (4-1) @ Logan (1-4)
What is bothering some Logan fans is they never saw this coming.
I can't remember this group of seniors doing nothing but winning against the SEOAL while coming up through the grades.
There are times in life where things just seem to always go wrong. And it is happening to the Chiefs this season. You have several plays to call and it just seems to come up wrong. No one certain persons fault, it just happens in life.
The Chiefs will be back--just need everyone to stay behind the program.

Six games.....SIX GAMES! And you can make a solid analysis based on that? With injuries, strong competition and a learning curve to boot? So when do you submit your resume? Seems to me I recall something similar happening about twenty years ago. New coach, bad season......now let me try to recall who that coach was..??? Hmmm..it's right on the tip of my tongue... no wait...don't tell me...it'll come to me sooner or later.

Logan just made to many mistakes, but those mistakes can be corrected, I for one will not give up on this group, they have worked hard and deserve our backing.
As for the Blue Devils, #7, Austin Wilson is a player, one of the better running backs I have seen this year, great speed and isn't afraid to lower a shoulder.
Best wishes to both teams the remainder of the year, stay healthy and finish strong.

Talent goes in cycles. Logan is likely entering a difficult period. Waterboy and others - way to keep it classy. Rats abandoning ship. Need talent and experience to win. Coaching staff is fine. Unless you are willing to pick up a whistle put in 70+ hours a week zip it. You reference Dale knowing what he was doing. He too was on staff and even head coach of teams in the past that were just plain bad.
