Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
this game should have been 14 to 6,at worst at halftime, we tghrew a pick 6 for a 9o yarder t d when we was on our 10 yard line getting ready to score so instead of going to half and coming out in the 3rd with the ball down 14 to 6 ...or possibly tie game we go in down 21 to 6...it took a lot out of our kids at that point, then we turned the ball over 3 more times on fumbles I think, you cant beat good teams like that.
Jackson run game was very impressive, congrats to them on the win,and best of luck.
I just want to say, Waybe Evans did a good job for us at QB tonight considering ,,,he was told at practice last night, he would be the starting QB tonight, after Mason Jordan was not able to go tonight..Wayne has not played Q B since jr high, so this was not an easy situation to come into

Great game for the Ironmen. They completely controlled the line of scrimmage and were able to run the ball well all night. Defense looked great. Time to get ready now for Ironton. We must maintain a high level of intensity and emotion!

Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
Congratulations to the Ironmen on the win........they dominated the line of scrimmage, and their running attack piled up the yards and points on the Trojans' defense.........like biggdowgg said, the score right before the half really hurt PHS, making any chance of a comeback slim being down two scores at the half instead of 14-6.
I thought Wayne Evans did a respectable job at QB, considering he has virtually no experience and was named the starter on short notice........I also thought L.J.Adams had a good game for the Trojans, and it was good to see him score the first TD.......he also stole a pass away from a Jackson defender late in the first half........unfortunately the Trojans couldn't take advantage of it.
To our kids, keep your heads up, keep fighting, and remember, you are Trojans, win or lose.

Another impressive performance by the Ironmen tonight. The offense kept on rolling up yardage on the ground, led by Klay Arthur, who had 160+ yards in the first half. Anyone know what he ended up with for the game? Jackson's O-line, as others have said, controlled the line of scrimmage all night. Big game from Drew Ervin tonight as well.
I was very impressed with Jackson defensively. I was a little worried about Portsmouth's speed after they took a 6-0 lead on an impressive opening drive, but the Jackson 1st team defense wouldn't allow another point after that. The defensive line was able to get a ton of penetration tonight, and the linebackers and secondary were solid also. Portsmouth made a couple big plays in the passing game, but once again, it wasn't because we were out of position. Our DBs made nice plays on the ball, but didn't make the catch, allowing the Trojan WRs to catch tipped passes. If they can start coming down with those, or at least knock them down, I really like the way the defense is playing.
Special teams was much better tonight. Pretty good kick coverage, and Luke Eisnaugle was solid as usual. Nice FG by Luke tonight on his first attempt of the season. Overall, another great win. 3-0 in SEOAL play, but now it's time for a break from conference play. The opponent is certainly no "break", however. The Ironton Tigers are a VERY good football team and they're gonna be hungry for a win after a loss to Alder. This is a huge game for the Ironmen when focusing on the playoff picture...maybe even a must win situation. Let's get it done, Ironmen!

Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
Nice job Ironmen. Keep in mind that the Trojans were not as strong or conditioned as you were. Ironton will be a good foe. I really thought we would see a big, strong Trojan team, but they looked pretty weak in regards to conditioning and strength. The kids were in position to make a play, but couldnt finish it. Good luck the rest of the way.
Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
Too much pre-season hype, no in season gusto? The Trojans seem to have the athletes, but are having a real time gelling as a team. Is there possibly a change in the future?
Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
what change would you like to see zebra? Perhaps it would help if we could put a lineup on the field that contains our best performer< or a qb that is not a true freshmen. Injuries have decimated this team, imagine a PW team without Pendleton, etc etc etc. Everyone has the answers, but few know the questions
Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
I didn't suggest a change, just posed the question, don't hate on the messenger.

Well as the old saying goes, if you are given a lemon make lemonaide...one thing for sure is PHS is
getting a lot of playing time for underclassmen...will this help?: for sure can not hurt,,,as long as the
young men learn from the expeirence...injuries are part of the game..but you hope they do not hurt as much as the ones the Trojans have at this time....having said this and not able to see the games from Arizona I depend on posts to let me gain a visual of the team...TrojanDave, Biggdog and so forth thank you for the postive and truthful posts about my Trojans...and if you are in the dumps about how this season is going look up 1962,,,I think,,,,we were 0-10 and Middletown beat us 98-14 at our homecoming, heck even McKell beat us that year...but we kept on playing....

no problem,I will still be at every single game win or lose, and I will be at all of them untill the clock ticks zeros,no matter what tye score is, this year we have just had to many injurys to key players early going.
chicken coop.
Josh has a ' hairline / stress fracture ' of some kind from what I understand, not sure of when/if he will return.

Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
It's easy to bang of the Trojans now and some will do just that. But our defense has not played well all year against a good running team. We also get no cupcake schedule to get any of our kids healthy. We have about 7 kids that play both ways and never come off the field. Here is a break down of what the Trojans played last night with.
46 players
21 freshmen
6 kids that never played before
That leaves really about 19 kids to choose from and by the way the QB last night was our starting WR. He was not a freshmen but has not played QB on the high school level. He did the best he could and for those that say it doesn't matter come on. And it doesn't matter if they are 14, 15, or even 16 Freshmen are still Freshmen playing time wise they are not ready for Friday Night Lights yet. We have the SEOAL POY from last year on our bench injured and your telling me that shouldn't make a difference. Congrats to Jackson's Coach's, players, and fans they were nothing but a class act in every respect last night. I just hate to see some posters on here talking trash about this team (Zebra-Too much pre-season hype, no in season gusto?). What would Jackson be if you took Aurthor, Ervin, and Winchester were off that team. That's what the Trojans are dealing with right now. Good luck to the Ironmen the rest of the year and great job by Coach Hall and his staff you have a fine football team. Trojans you must buckle up the chin strap and keep playing you still have some big games left that you could win. ONCE A TROJAN ALWAYS A TROJAN!

Re: SEOAL: Jackson (4-1, 2-0) at Portsmouth (2-3, 1-1)
our schedule speaks for itself no doubt, with only 2 wins, and 3 losses we was still at 8 ...if we could have won last night we could have moved as high as 3 I think.
so when you lose starters these games are very hard to win.
I still know, these kids will come back and ready to go at it next week and the week after, and so on.
