Frontier seems to have built on the comeback against Beallsville.

However, the Redskins are better than Beallsville or FF.

Going with Caldwell on the road but it won't be easy.

This will be a really good game.Frontier will probably have the best 3 or 4 players on the field.Caldwell might have the better overall team.If Caldwell can pass the ball on the shorter dbs of Frontier they should win.

This could be a tough one for Caldwell. Frontier's got weapons on offense and they're able to put up points. Caldwell should have an advantage on the line though. I'm sure they'll try to run it early and often and wear Frontier down. Secondary play will be key to this game. If Frontier's DB's are as small as Eastern says, then i'd look for a big game out of Morris, if they actually decide to throw the ball some. I think Caldwell wins, but with the game being at Frontier, I think it'll only be by 13.

This was choice #2 for me this Friday night, since I've decided to shuffle my "2010 Excellent Football Adventure". I still might make the drive to this game, as I think it is going to be a very good game. Tough decision, but I've got a few days to decide between this game and Trimble @ Eastern.

Caldwell's a hard team to figure out. Beat Barnesville on final play of game, get blown out by Monroe Central.

This one at Frontier will be a make-or-break for playoff chance with Cougars still in the region 23 hunt. Frontier's just goin' to have to score 32 points to win this one. Caldwell's got that Sayre kid and a few others, plus coach Devol.

Frontier is riding an emotional high of late and with those Notre Dame-like uni's maybe the luck of the Irish continues. Fickiesen, Tilton, Zartman and Brunoni will have to be at the top of their games. The Cougs' only weakness is pass defense but Caldwell doesn't make a habit of throwing.

Me'thinks Frontier wins this one.

They looked very good against the Cadets last Friday.

Caldwell needs to control the line of scrimmage. The easiest way to prevent Frontier from scoring is to keep their offense off the field. Long time consuming drives should do the trick. Although i haven't seen Frontier play yet, i'd think that Caldwell should be able to control the line of scrimmage. Rossiter and Snodgrass should have plenty of success running the ball.

This PVC season is eerily similar to last season's. It's almost like Deja Vu. I expect this game to be no different than last year's which was maybe the PVC game of the year going into either double or triple OT. Frontier took some lumps against bigger competition earlier in the year. I feel that was worth something against Fort Frye who has taken the exact opposite approach in scheduling. Caldwell has played decent competition, but Frontier has played the tougher schedule. They won't face a better back the rest of the way than they did with Chase Rowland of Oak Glenn.

Playoff spots are on the line for both teams. Going with Frontier by 1 point.

Last year's game went into triple overtime. I'm not sure who's played better competition. To me, it doesn't seem like Alexander is as good as their record shows and Oak Glen confuses me. Losing to Beaver Local? Anyways, Caldwell has faced some decent QB's this year, maybe not as good a pure passer as Fick, but they've faced guys like Arnold from Nc'town and Kinchen from MC. I think the secondary has gotten better over the course of the season and will continue to do so. It'll be a close one, but I think Caldwell wins this game.

I had written a long rebuttal, but I don't want to sway off topic and get into a strength of schedule debate. Only I'll say that Beaver Local plays a brutal schedule and likely could make their region with 5 wins. There is no shame for Oak Glen (D4 equiv.) to lose to D3 Beaver.

My main point is that Frontier has played good competition out of conference for being such a small school. Whether it's better than Caldwell's I don't know.

Looks like good football weather tomorrow. High of 76 and no rain in sight. Hope the Skins improve to 6-1 after tomorrow night.

47-40 Caldwell.

Caldwell scored the winning touchdown w/ 8 seconds left in the 4th. Another great 2nd half comeback from the Cougars fell just a bit short.

That was one hell of a game, again. Gotta be heartbreaking for Frontier to fall short against Caldwell for the second year in a row. Caldwell had quite a big lead in the second half, but a couple questionable calls and some good plays by Frontier kept Frontier in the game. They're better than they're record shows. Fick is probably the best QB i've seen all year. Sayre and Morris had great games. I'll post the stats tomorrow, but Morris had 4 TD's catches. Awesome game.

I know buddy, I've been lamenting that since I got home and saw how this one played out. Sounds like a classic, 87 points, to quote Harry Carey "HOLY COW"!!!!

I went with the short drive tonight, and got to see some folks I hadn't seen for awhile, so it is all good.

And I'm telling you, those homecoming floats at Reedsville Eastern tonight were just unbelieveable! It was worth for me to go to that game, just to see these kids work. It was awesome!

Sorry I missed a classic, but congrats to your Redskins on the big win!

I'll say I was totally wrong on how Caldwell approached this game. I figured they'd come out and try and dominate with the running game. Instead they came out throwing the ball all over the field, and had pretty good success doing it. Glad to see them open up the offense a little more. They'll need a balanced attack in the coming weeks.

Sayre was 27-44 for 350 yards and 5 TD's, plus the game winning rush TD. Morris had 11 catches for 94 yards and 4 TD's. Rossiter also had a 30 yard TD catch and around 50 yards rushing.

That should put Caldwell in the driver's seat for a playoff spot, but it'd take a monumental upset (Frontier beating Monroe Central) to get the Cougs in the playoffs.

Maybe Steely can give me the exact stats on the series, but I believe Circosta's Woodsfield/MC teams are 34-1 vs. Frontier.
