Jackson in this one. Not a blowout at the half but the jv's will be in the 4th quarter. V.C. much improved but not enough against a stout Jackson D.

I hope the ironmen are as over confident as their fans. They may just be in for a surprise. This isn't last years Vikings. They're bigger, stronger, faster and have experience over last years group. Jackson has a great team, but anything can happen.

Good luck Vikings! They'll be a packed home side of believers!!

All we can do on here is speak for our own individual opinions. I believe VC is far more confident and more talented than the past few years. I also believe Jackson is very talented at the skill positions and the defense and special teams have been excellent. It will take VC's best game and clock control to keep this close enough to have a chance. We still remember Wellston last year so surprises will be hard to imagine happening.

Jackson needs to come out crisp and focused to attain a nice lead and then never look back.

Is 100-0 a possibility with Jackson running a traditional I running game? Possibly....

IMO, You have this one figured about right. The critical problem that VC will have is the dispairity in team size. Jackson has so much more depth at almost every position. VCs best chance is to score early and burn that clock for all its worth. Im not speaking bad of the Vikings....matter of fact, I see this program growing over the next couple of years to a very competitive team that most would not take lightly, but right now, size, meaning available manpower is their major weakness.

Two years ago, Jackson trailed Vinton County 8-6 at halftime in McArthur before pulling away in the second half. That should serve as a warning for this Jackson team. People can come on here and say that Jackson will win easily, and this and that, but it's all about focus and execution on the field. I believe that Jackson is certainly the better team, but anything can happen. The Ironmen need to be on top of their game, play 48 solid minutes of football, and get out of McArthur with a win. I think Coach Hall will have his team ready to play. They know that they have won impressively the first two weeks, but they also know that there's still plenty of work to be done before league play begins. Let's get win #3 tomorrow night!

The depth is an advantage. Playing every play of the game is extremely tiring....as long as the backup is solid it's a nice advantage to give your top players time off on offense or defense....but if your star player is resting during the defensive time and the backup allow a couple big plays, then your depth is a negative.

Austin and Ty are hot tonight. 2nd quarter and all 4 touchdowns were touchdown passes from Osborne to McNelly

Don Coriell?

Very good game by the Ironmen. Osborne to McNelly was not stoppable. Morgan Landrum was excellent. Stephen Kearns and Steven Trepanier had good games receiving. Osborne was 13/15....McNelly 4 receiving TD....has to be a Jackson record.

How many yards did VC have rushing? They ran a lot but didn't seem to gain many first downs....but in the postgame Coach Burlson said that no one had been able to run on the Ironmen but we did tonight. Maybe the had more yards than I realized. I lose focus pretty easily!

Did Ervin get hurt?

It gets tougher!

I haven't heard how many total yards Vinton County had, but I do know that the Jackson defense is three weeks into the season and they haven't given up a single point. Pretty impressive, especially with so many guys subbing in and out. Things will definitely get much tougher, starting with next week at Logan.

I can't say enough about Osborne and McNelly. Austin was nearly flawless in the passing game tonight and Ty seems like he's open every time he runs a route. The passing game that we saw tonight could really add an entire different dimension to the Jackson offensive attack.

Morgan Landrum was great on the ground for the third straight week. Hope that Drew Ervin is good to go for next week. Seemed to me that he was begging to play, but probably held out as a precautionary measure.

Defense has been outstanding, special teams is basically perfect, and the offense is lighting up the scoreboard. Now forget about it, and start 0-0 next week at Logan. The Chiefs will be ready to play, I'm sure. Jackson needs to match that intensity and then some, stay focused, and execute. Can't wait for next Friday!
