Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
I saw the video too and it wasn't just bad calls it was horrible. I made the comment that alder was a good team. Well I changed my mind. Alder is a very unsportsmanlike team. they took cheap shots and VERY late hits that should have been called out. Call me a whiner or s.loser I don't care. Football is a very physical game I know but there is a difference in being aggressive and just being dirty. And their coach must condone this because he allowed it to happen the whole game. Now I know that refs are human and can make bad calls here or there, but this video will show you that Alder boys was punching and pushing boys down after the whistle and it shows in one of them the ref standing there watching it and he did nothing. However, making a bad call and ejecting someone is two different things. And the video shows from different views that Wilks did nothing wrong. No punch was thrown by him. However it does show Alder doing it. So was there a personal reason for this call? All I know is that I'mover that game. However, I'm not over that ejection that was completely uncalled for. I have no respect for that ref. unless he makes it right. And I'm not sure that is possible. I just hope that he isn't allowed to do anymore of our games.
And why does it matter what was said? Actions say it all! And is that ref really from Jackson? Does anyone know?

Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
I said this from day one (don't take this as an excuse, because it's far from one). As soon as it happened, and the fact that no one got an explanation for why Tres was thrown out of that game. To my eyes it looked like nothing happened, and apparently people have footage to prove this. It seemed to be a "targeting" to me. Everyone from Southern Ohio know that the people from up North give us no respect. they don't want to see us be successful. We are worthless down here to them. That being said, Alder is about 20 minutes north of Columbus I would say. I don't think the boys with the OHSAA wanted to see us beat a team from the North. Again, just my opinion. Let the shots at me begin....sittin the pine wrote:Get over it! All teams can argue that they have been a victim of a poor call by a official at some point in time. Officials are humans and do may mistakes. Only the official that made the call can say whether it was truly what he/she saw or the call was made up. The one thing that no one has mentioned here is the video does not contain audio. So we know what we saw, but do we don't know what was said. The OHSAA will not overturn a call like this, just too many unknown facts.

While a lot of me tends to agree with a lot of what is being said, it is irrelevant now. We have our work cut out for us.
I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday and I'm feeling alright, I will be in attendance tomorrow in Jackson. Although some kids are out, I expect my Fighting Tigers to come out and do what they always do: execute and play hard.
The Alder game is behind us. They whipped us. Time to play a good Jackson team at their place. They beat us at their place when we had a pretty good team. It will be a challenge.
Hopefully I can make it up with the boys and make a stop at Mike's One Stop for some fabulous pizza.

Mike's One Stop does have some kick A pizza. Hopefully that one chick will believe me this time that I'm over 18, so I can buy some scratch offs.fightingtigers45 wrote:While a lot of me tends to agree with a lot of what is being said, it is irrelevant now. We have our work cut out for us.

Your statment really bothers me. If your an Ironton fan, then why would you say that other teams get screwed when coming to Ironton? And I for one don't care if you think that it's getting old or not. DON'T READ THEM! Sure I would like to forget about that game and I"m really over the fact that we lost. However, the papers are already involved. All of them already stated that Wilks was ejected for throwing a punch and for him and his family, it needs to be said that he didn't do that and the proof is in color. If you was a true fan then you would stand behind a player that was wrongfully ejected from any game win or lose.

I agree completely. If it can be proven that he didn't do anything, there needs to be an apology by someone. That type of thing will cause people to get assumptions of you about the type of person you are, and that needs fixed

That's what I mean. I think that it's only fair to him.

Who got the refs for the Alder game? Ironton did not anyone else.
Some Ironton fans talk it up but then keep up the excuses why they lost. Some Ironton fans talk like they never lost a game that it was because of this or that. To continue to complain about the way Alder plays because they played to the whistle. Football is a physical sport. Alder won the game and it wasn't close now this week it is Jackson. If Jackson wins some of you already have your excuses ready for why. Good thing the game is played on the field and bad refs you have to adapt and overcome. Just like you have to do for the weather and injuries.
Good luck to Jackson this week.

I love people that hate us. It for one amuses me, and two just makes me realize that it's nothing but respect that comes off as dislike.
Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
My statement has nothing to do with hate. Oh wait maybe it was my fault Ironton lost last week. Glad I could amuse you while you keep looking for excuses for losing last weeks game. The scoreboard has the points for the home team and visiting team. That is what matters not how many excuses you can come up with for your shortcomings on the scoreboard.

It's not about losing, we got beat. This is about a call that got one of our best Running Backs and Defenders ejected from a game that wasn't warranted and He won't be able to play in the JACKSON game because of this. The video CLEARLY shows that nothing happened that warranted Him being ejected from the game.farmer wrote:My statement has nothing to do with hate. Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
I only saw Wilks play against the Burg and he didn't seem to be the type of player that would start anything or say anything on the field. If the video evidence is there that he didn't throw a punch and if that is in fact what he was kicked out of the game for, then something needs to be done about it.
The sad thing is that if college coaches gets wind of this, that is all they are going to look at with this kid is this one incidence. That could hurt him on going to a decent college somewhere. From what I saw of him, he is a heck of a player and would make a team a nice player, especially at punt or kick returner.
Hopefully the OHSAA will grow a pair and overturn this if the evidence is there.

I hate to disagree, but I have to. Colleges are not going to base anything on this. Zero. Trust me, if you can play at the next level, you will, unless you are completely useless like some of the clowns that you read about in the paper. For crying out loud, Ahmad Bradshaw had an indictment for rape hanging over his head when he came to Marshall, that is why UVA let him out of his commitment.yabbadabbadoo wrote:I only saw Wilks play against the Burg and he didn't seem to be the type of player that would start anything or say anything on the field. Colleges do not pass ball players over because of an isolated incident like this. It is not like Tres has 3 DUI's, got caught smoking some weed, robbed two pizza delievery drivers, and has a 0.92 GPA. 99% of colleges will not have any idea that he missed a game due to this.
Sorry, but I had to disagree. Tres, don't worry about this college stuff, it will not be an issue. And, if you were "targeted" which is very possible, you have to just go back to the huddle and let your play do your talking for you. I can't tell you how many times I was scratched, clawed, pinched, eyes gouged, and spat upon on the field with the intentions of getting me to throw a punch. It happens. I took it as a compliment. There was one game I was getting choked on the bottom of the pile and it was the same 155lb piss-ante LB for Portsmouth all night long. He wanted me tossed bad. I did come up off of the bottom ready to swing. Lutz took me out for a couple of plays so I would cool off. I got it together and then just tried to take his head off between whistles. Bad calls are part of the game, unfortunate but part of the game. I understand Tres may be able to play this week, we shall see, but if not, use it as motivation to prove a point the next time you take the field.
Remember, enjoy each game you play and play each play like it is your last because you never know if it is gonna be. Some people I know never experienced getting on the field, under the lights, hearing the fans scream, or what it is like to hit someone, they just pretend like they did. And then some played Tennis.................
Give me a T.....................................................
