Gallia fans, don't judge the Wellston vs Jackson game by the score. it was a battle the first half, and slowly started getting out of hand. Wellston's offense just could not get anything going against Jackson's defense. If the rockets are healthy I could see them winning this game. Gallia is already off to a bad start against TVC teams this season. Could be a long year for the Blue Devils... and a long game week 10 ;)

I'm interested to see the outcome of this one. Each of the last two years Wellston has pulled off a very good win early, what can the Rockets do this year after beating Jackson last year the rest of the season had high expectations that didn't pan out. I think Gallia will win this game but Wellston stands at least a fighting chance.

If you were at the jackson v. Wellston Game and know anything about football. Then you would know that Wellston's Defense did play very well for 3 quarters, it is hard to stop any team all game long when they only have to go 40-50 yards per drive. jackson has one of, if not the most potent offenses around this year. If wellston would have been able to move the ball consistantly or even punted jackson deep the game could have gone different. Not saying Wellston would have won, But Their Defense is very good. Minford who scored 40+ in week one, only scored 7...Good luck to both teams. Go Rockets

Your post is right on track IMO. With no offensive production throughout the game. Wellstons Defense battled very hard until the fourth quarter. Hope Wellston gets on track with the offense, If that happens they could suprise some teams this year! Good luck Rockets!! Wellston wins a very close game 19-14jervin wrote:If you were at the jackson v. Wellston Game and know anything about football. I saw the Wellston v. Jackson game and I'd agree that the Wellston D played very well. However, the Gallia D has held two good offensive teams to 15 and 7 points. I like the matchup of Wellston O vs. Gallia D in Gallia's favor. As good as the Wellston D was against Jackson, the offense was lackluster at best. They'll struggle to score much this Friday.
Gallia's offense is MUCH different than either Jackson or Minford. I don't know how well Wellston will match up. Gallia should have a marked size advantage and should be able to pound the ball and wear them down. This will be the key to the game.

Gahs83 IMO Although Gallia will have size advantage wellstons d-line is improving with a mixture of smaller faster kids and a tank at nose gaud, if I see anybody wearing down it's the bigger gillia o-line . Good luck to both teams!! Go rockets!!!

Would that be because up until about 3 years ago, the Gallians owned the ironmen for about 7 or 8 straight?IronmenTradition wrote:two teams I dislike more than any other teams in Ohio playing each other lol
ehh never thought I would say this but GO ROCKETS!

Re: Week 3: Gallia Academy (1-1) @ Wellston (1-1)
9 straight, actually. Thank goodness that came to an end. The Ironmen have won 3 of the last 4, so hopefully things are trending back toward our side for a while.

This is Wellston v. Gallia not jhs v. Gallia let's save that discussion for a week or so

Didn't mean to offend anyone by answering GalliaGrad78. Good luck to Wellston and GAHS tomorrow night.

May God bless you gahs4ever, and all fans that for whatever reason are unable to see the games that are near and dear to their heart.

Re: Week 3: Gallia Academy (1-1) @ Wellston (1-1)
The Blue Devils had no prob keeping Licking Heights in check last week and that whole team was fast Held Sharp in check in week 1 pretty much all game the few times he got away he burned us But I would say option outside is your best chance cause the middle of the road is closed!! good luck to both teams tonight I ll take the Devils by 2 scores tonight 28-14jervin wrote:IMO Wellston has a very solid Defense. I would say good enough to keep them in any game they play this year. But they are going to have to get some sort of consistant push from the offense in order to beat Gallia. I say Wellston Offense options their way to Victory on the outside, 20- 14

Re: Week 3: Gallia Academy (1-1) @ Wellston (1-1)
Wellston is very tough defensively up the middle and speedy at corner. Unless Gallia Acadamy turns the ball over deep in their own territory, this will probably be a low scoring affair. If Prater is playing hurt, that might be a game changer.
Both teams are a running team and the new turf in Wellston should make the rain non existent.
First team to score 21 pts is the winner!

With all the Blue Devil injuries, GAHS may not get in the 20s until we get 'em back.
