Gridiron Glory Week 8

Post by TroopSports »

Another week, another full show of highlights from the biggest games in the region! This week, we'll go to the following games:

Portsmouth @ Gallia Academy
John Glenn @ Maysville
Athens @ Alexander
Belpre @ Trimble
Wirt County @ Williamstown
Sheridan @ Tri-Valley
South Gallia @ Wahama
Wellston @ Meigs

Plus, we'll have another feature from Erin Laviola.

It's all at 11:30p.m. Friday night on WOUB-TV.

Good luck to all teams!

I didn't watch it of course, but I saw at least four GG people there at the game.

Which begs the questions:

How many Michigan graduates does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

How many OU WOUB students does it take to cover one high school football game?

I watched Gridiron and if you didn't know the outcome you would have assumed that Ironton won big based on the highlights shown.

Gridiron is a great show for the area. Coverage isn't the best but the kids are learning and when they get good at it, they graduate. Kinda like football players.

My dude Keyser (or is it Keyster?) you're in a foul mood these days!

I think GG has stopped sending people to cover NY.

Seems like there is a couple of reporters who really don't know much about football. A couple reporters talk to fast and not very clear......I'm glad that they work hard to put out a good show each week though.

ji81grad.....You have a p.m. Nice logo by the way.

No, not in a foul mood these days, pretty good actually.

However, some of my colleagues and I — let's just say — have a story behind the story with GG of which both sides know about.

I love the show and DVR it every week. I wish we had something like it up here in Licking County. The reporters do a great job.

Do you ever notice that the fan of the week should probably receive Ritalin instead of a t-shirt?

footballfanatic1.....Actually, it hasn't a thing to do with the Ironmen or any other team.

Maybe one day in the future I'll give a tell-all on it. But it's inside for us now.

Any coverage is better than no coverage at all IMO, and it should be remembered that these are students on-the-job training and we get to watch them learn as they go in front of a microphone and camera.

Anyone who thinks that is easy, just grab a mic without a script and start talking to a camera. I was asked a few years ago to help our radio crew when one of the guys couldnt make it, and just the thought of it (mic fright) gave me the willies.

And anyone who knows me knows I cant keep my big mouth shut. I'm guessing now everyone who has to be around me will pull out their own personal microphone when they want me to shut up.

i would have neverrrrrrrr thought that about you.......... :aaaaa24 :aaaaa24 :aaaaa24 :aaaaa24 :aaaaa57

I guess take it for what it is, students learning the ropes. I don't watch it everyweek, but think they at least try to do a good job, and that's all that can be asked, remember, it's highschool football, not the NFL.

That's worth a couple of dimes.....
