Symmes Valley Clinches Home Playoff Game

Post by 1longtimeviking »

Nice to have a home game in this one.
Just wanted to say that it has been an honor to watch our young men play each game throughout the regular season. The love and brotherhood that exists among the players on this team and the respect to and from the coaches is unmatched by any that I have ever seen. Keep up the excellent work Vikings. We're all looking forward to many more weeks of football.

I guarantee the Vikings and their fans are breathing a big sigh of relief!
I'll be in Willow Wood on Friday to take this one in. See everyone at the ballfield and good luck Symmes Valley!

Well I guess that Malvern will be returning the favor this year! Not really looking forward to a 4 hour+ drive, but it is the playoffs and I'm just happy the Hornets are in it. I know one thing the hospitality from the Symmes Valley people is tremendous and that is one thing I will look forward too!

Way to go Vikings. Great season guys!!! Great to be playing at home in week 11.
Thank you very much Chesapeake and Northwest. Way to come up big for us when we needed it.
Looks like there is still a chance that SV jumps to 3 with a loss from NC and a win by Southern? Either way, the Vikings will be a very good host for any team making the trip.

Great job Vikings!! It is fantastic to host a playoff game again!

Herdya - Are you from Malvern? Do you really think Malvern will be the team we play?

Newarkcatholicfan - I saw on another thread some NC fans expect a really tough game tonight. What seed are you expecting NC to get?

Hey SVDad,
I think here is how it will break down. If NC loses tonight and Southern beats Eastern (which I don't really see happening), SV could jump ahead of NC and play Fairfield Christian at home. NC could fall to 4 and Malvern would go to NC. That could really be the only change as far as SV is concerned. Both of those things need to happen though. It is a pretty far stretch. I would think that more than likely, SV will see Malvern come to them.

OK thanks, Riverball, for the insight. While I'm sure that both Malvern and NC are great teams, there is a part of me that relishes the chance to return the favor to Malvern this year.

Way to go Vikes and Congrats to all the boys and
to Coach Webb.
As far as the teams go...I know our SV team this
year is alot more rounded on both ends of the
field than compared to what we had last year.
As far as Malvern....how does this years team compare
to the team we seen last year?
Anyone ?

This years Malvern team is much different from a year ago. They only start 1 senior on offense and 2 on defense. They have a good athlete at QB in JR. Shawn Ball. He has passed for over 2100 yards and has ran for nearly 1100 with 36 total TD's. 3 of their 4 starting receivers are over 6'4 and are good athletes. Their top receiver is JR. Travis Tucci who has around 900 receiving yards and 13 TD's. The offensive line has really started to come together as the season has went on. They are not as big as last year, but they do have a 265 lb. tackle and 2 good size guards. Their defense was very suspect through 5 games, but in the 2nd half of the season, the defense has been much better.

Malvern better head to the local pharmacy and stock up on Dramamine cause I'm sure they won't know what hit them once they hit 141!!!

Maybe we should bring them in via Greasy Ridge instead and then out 217 that would be alot better wouldnt it?

Believe me I know about the drive from last year. The worst part of the drive for me was from Gallipolis to the high school, but I took 775.
